  1. Welcome to the club. In addition to using paypal for your membership, it will also be important in buying/selling all the sweet gear and livestock you will see here on WAMAS (once a member). There really is a lot on these boards to help fuel your addiction I am sure that 20 will turn into a 120 in no time
  2. Thanks for the link Laura, drives home the importance of what you are working on with these fish! Thanks again for your role in getting captive bred Bangaii to us aquarists!
  3. Perhaps your leather had just shed and the stars were eating the mucous coating?
  4. Try the RDSB. It wont break the bank and should fix the nitrate problem. If it doesn't, you are only out $10.
  5. Welcome to the club, and nice tank! The corals look very happy
  6. I agree with the above. Their population will adjust based on available food. Personally, I do not believe that they are anything but a beneficial scavenger.
  7. Webpage seems to be in German, but other than that, I now have a new piece of equipment to drool over... Thanks!
  8. Excellent pics as always!
  9. Not sure if this was mentioned yet in the thread, but have you considered putting a remote DSB online yet? A 5 gallon bucket filled with a $5 bag of sand could fix your problem with nitrates.
  10. "Basically everything they do is hardcore.." This was awesome, thanks for sharing!
  11. I agree 100% with this. Although your tank was established using rock/sand from a previously running system, I would still wait a few months and practice before getting into the more finicky SPS types.
  12. +1 I occasionally feed my LPS some small bits of shrimp, but only those that have mouth openings large enough to accommodate the food. Otherwise, my softies get what they need from light, and dissolved nutrients in the water column.
  13. Very neat! I hope my son is interested in the hobby at that age
  14. I drilled a non RR 100g and am happy with the results. The glass-holes kit is a good way to go, but you can find less expensive kits that will do the same thing (search on eBay). Drilling the tank is really not difficult at all, just be sure that the glass you are drilling is not tempered. I drilled my overflow drains, and just ran the return line over the rim of the tank. It is not too noticeable, and saves you putting another hole in the back glass. Good luck!
  15. Humm, that should be fine. Perhaps getting a seed rock in there with another variety of coraline in there would do the trick.
  16. Describe your lighting setup. Otherwise, I don't understand why you are not seeing any. Is your rock totally white?
  17. Lol! This is so true! They never fall anywhere easy Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
  18. Great pics! Thanks for sharing Paul!
  19. True. Good info!
  20. Hah, this is so true. For me it was a hermit crab.
  21. LOL, +1 on the cardboard I like it, but aren't frag tanks supposed to be more utilitarian? Your frag tank is going to be prettier than my display
  22. No problem at all. From what I understand, dimming the LEDs is actually just turning them on/off at such a high frequency that your eye perceives them as being dimmed. I have my LEDs on digital lamp timers, and have been running them like that for over a year with no issues.
  23. Lol, do the rest of you see that he used the word SOME? You are out of control! Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
  24. Hey man, GREAT pics! Impressive corals, but taking good shots of them is a skill in itself! Glad the dosing is working out. Love the progress Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
  25. I would definitely try these in my refugium, if you were closer :(
