  1. Planet aquarium, coast to coast would be my two recommendations. I have a buddy who was quoted 9 months from reef savvy for delivery and now it’s looking like 12 months +
  2. Did they tell you how you could have treated for the vibrio? Is it something as easy as adding competing bacteria? Or using something like Cipro to kill it.
  3. Personally. I would sell everything that you can easily replace livestock wise. That way there is less of a chance of things dying during the move. Only keep what you want and move the 30 gallon. Then take your time and set up the 130. Once it’s stable, transfer the 30 over and sell the set up if you don’t need it.
  4. Tell people where you located. That might make it easier to find someone who could help
  5. The problem with custom aquariums right now is they are having issues getting glass if you can believe it. im helping a buddy build a high end reef savvy tank and was quoted 9 months for delivery. But it’s looking closer to 11. When I had my miracles tank built I think it took a solid 3 months from order to delivery. you might want to look on R2R for someone breaking down a large set up. Would be the quickest turnaround time
  6. Nope. I see everything correctly.
  7. I did find out that the mini doesn’t send notifications. Not sure if that’s a need for you.
  8. Yea. My tips were never the problem. It always started at the base and then slowly the flesh just melted off. But I have the same corals next to each other and one died and one thrived. It’s super strange. No clue why. Some times this hobby just makes you wonder What. HAHAH
  9. I have lost several really large colonies. All my high end stuff is much smaller and have been fine. I did a 3 day lights out and my phosphate jumped from .06 to .24 due to the algae die off. Now I am running a little GFO and doing multiple water changes to get that back in line. my nitrates were at 0 or just a hair above. I have been dosing nitrates for the last week and now it’s up to about 3.5. just gotta get my phosphates back down. it’s weird though. Some of my SPS have never looked better. It’s super weird. But hopefully things have turned the corner. It has been slow and mainly the old school stuff died. The good thing is now I have room for more high end SPS. hahaha
  10. What’s your nitrate and phosphate? I just went ultra low nutrient and didn’t realize it until it was too late. Lost some large colonies of old school stuff. All my smaller pieces and frags are doing okay. But trying to get the nitrate and phosphate in check. My ICP test told me nothing other then low iodine and high lithium like everyone else in the world.
  11. Thinking about getting a controller to keep check of the parameters and add a little new tech to the tank. Don’t want to spend $900 on an apex and have always like the GHL product. This mini seems like it can do the basics plus if I need to add a doser fit will control that as well
  12. I wouldn’t hire a company to come out for a ten gallon. But your close to reef escape in fairfax. Maybe see if you can bring your tank to them for them to babysit while your gone. Might be way cheaper then having them send someone to your house several times per week. also depending on what you have in it, you could always sell the livestock and then start it again when you come back.
  13. How big is the nano? Inhabitants, where u located?
  14. He shut down. Had a lot of customer service issues.
  15. Just get a diamond cutting wheel for the dremel.
  16. How big are the emerald crabs? They have been known to eat fish when they get really big at least in my experience.
  17. Check the connection where the line contacts the doser. It might be loose letting in air.
  18. Kinda looks like sea lettuce. My scopas tang crushed it.
  19. Have u ever had a saltwater tank? If no, I would stay in the range of about 20-40 gallons. Also we need to know what the budget is for the build? Are you looking for an all in one, like an innovative marine tank or a full custom build. the $$ can get stupid in this hobby so if we know what your looking to achieve, we can nudge you in that direction
  20. I have seen threads on R2R where people actually dose nitrate and phosphate. Thankfully I have enough fish that I don’t need to dose that.
  21. SPS is strange. I have 100 pieces in my tank and every now and then one will just randomly STN. No idea why. All the others around it are perfectly fine and healthy.
  22. Yea. You would need 4 min to move that size tank. Hahaha. But if you had 6 people it would be a simple move that would take 5 mins.
  23. Just rent the suction cups from the club and buy some beer and pizza. Should have a few guys local to you that can help out.
  24. Sponges are filter feeders. But a lot of time they are super ugly. I normally peel mine off the rock and toss it. as for fish that eat it, the only problem is they will probably eat your corals as well.
  25. I put the rock/sand and salt in mine, dropped in a raw shrimp and let it cook for 3 months.
