  1. DITTO! Nicely done. Like the 3-sided view.
  2. Steve, I'm pretty sure the bubble has grown 2+ inches across since you posted this comment!!!! I'm watching her carefully. She's a beauty for sure and extremely happy in our tank (now if Icould only get Jon to stop seeing it as potential real estate for many, many other corals.............). Still not his favorite. M
  3. Read an article in today's paper about the opening this Saturday. The article included the following excerpt: "Plenty of life is also on show, with a 1,500 gallon aquarium containing an Indo-Pacific coral reef featuring more than 1,000 species of live fish an other marine life". If anyone makes a visit, please post your thoughts. Thanks, Maureen
  4. Sounds like they're doing better, so glad to hear! M
  5. I heard a rumor about a tank tour and BBQ (because it is sooooo far to your place). Oh wait, I started that rumor....................................
  6. Ron, I really like the rock work, tank is coming along nicely. You'll have to post new pictures soon with your new additions from AquaCo party. Maureen
  7. Marcia, Are you target feeding at all? Although not necessary, they often respond very well to target feeding. We're feeding mysis shrimp and/or cyclopeeze a couple of times a week and ours are currently thriving (knock on wooden tank stand)...... Maureen
  8. Submissions must be made before September 30, 2008
  9. Thanks for sharing pics! Love the orange and green coral. (Consider putting this thread under the dedicated tank forum and keep updating/posting pics)
  10. I don't know, but first dibs on coral and fish is a heck of an incentive! I'd probably spend every cent I made in the store.
  11. Thank you Doug. I hope I get to meet your wife (and other Wamas wives) at the Aquaco Party or future socials. Maureen
  12. Enjoying your pictures!
  13. Has anyone sent a picture in yet? Planning to send one in?
  14. HEY! Be nice to the wives! I've made a couple of mistakes helping Jon (cost him a 55 gallon tank and made a couple of extra acro frags), but my assistance always comes from a place of love and support of him and this hobby I'm trying to learn so much about. Maureen
  15. Bob, So sorry to hear about your misfortune. I'm so glad you were able to get help. Hope all turns out okay. M
  16. Great fish tale! Congrats on rescuing 2 fish.
  17. I hope you'll give yourself some time to consider solutions to your challenges with the tank and try to make it work. It is SO beautiful, I just can't believe you can let this go................ If you must, we wish you the best.
  18. Your tank is going to be lovely. Your floor already is lovely.............aren't you worried about the water????
  19. Fredericksburg is expecting 20 mph winds tomorrow afternoon along with rain. We have battery powered air stones on hand.
  20. For everyone attending Macna XX this weekend, have a fantastic time! Bring home pictures and stories of the conference and events. Safe travel! M
  21. I hope individuals interested in joining Wamas, but not sure what they'll get for their money, will read my post in the "Welcome to WAMAS: FAQ / FYI / Hobby News" forum entitled "WYS is WYG with Wamas, unless you are a paid member!". All the secret places available to paid Wamas members are detailed here. Maureen
  22. James, if we get a 3' deep tank we're talking about putting it in the wall, but having 18 - 24" protrude into the room so you can see in the sides. There would be recessed bookshelves/storage cabinets on either side and the cabinetry would follow the lines of the tank into the room, kind of like a bump out or bay window. I saw a picture of this once. The fish room would be behind and there'd be access from the front too, but it would be hidden in the cabinetry. You should start a thread ........"what is your dream tank"!
  23. Gorgeous. I love how clean the interior looks without the internal overflows and how much more flexibility you'll have with you aqua scaping. Tagging along for more picutres.
  24. James, I really appreciate your sharing this find, Jon and I are always on the hunt for our "dream" tank, which will hopefully be set up after the next move in 2 years. We're hoping for a 300, and although the larger size of this tank is appealing, the dimensions don't work for us. If we find our amazing dream tank, our plan is to store it in the basement of this house until the move after Kathryn graduates. Thanks for sharing. Maureen
