  1. Doug, this is the first I've read about an Oct 4 social. I thought the October social was at AquaCo, are we going to have 2????? M
  2. Impressive (deep breathing) Very Impressive...............
  3. Gary, With TLC this tank is going to be awesome! M
  4. Welcome! I hope you'll consider starting a thread in the dedicated tank forum and let us tag along as you set up your 300! Maureen
  5. Steve, I would make sure the recipient knows how to acclimate (if they don't, have them search posts on Wamas). Too fast can be a problem. We always test salinity of frag water and use the drip method. Maureen
  6. And one of Jon's least favorite corals! I actually talked him into the pink, he's still longing for a green. It is really healthy and continues to grow for us. Thanks for noticing! M
  7. Terry & Patti, I love the way your sea horse tank is coming along. Congrats! (And when I come and visit it will probably be MY handprints all over the glass!) They're amazing. Have fun. M
  8. WOW! Well done. So glad you documented the process for others to learn from.
  9. Would love to have you, let us know when you're planning on coming down this way! M
  10. Jeff, You're a good man, this can't have been an easy email to write. You're on the right path to getting back on your feet. Unfortunately, in today's economy more people are having tough times than seems fair. I hope you know how much support you have from many. We know you'll make things right for all, and for yourself as well. Our support, thoughts, and prayers go out to you as you work your way through this journey. Maureen
  11. Hearing this makes me very sad...................... I hope things work out well for all soon.
  12. Gary, Plan on stopping over sometime, you're probably one of our closest WAMAS neighbors! Maureen
  13. Don't be sad................I'm tagging along in hopes of learning more about fish behavior as our yellow tang seems to delight in dominating our powder blue, who seems very docile and non-threatening. They were placed in the tank on the same day and are approximately the same size. I can only assume that no one has responded because they are also at a loss.................. M
  14. Doug, There are still a lot of frag plugs visible if you get up close, especially the acros, which I can't wait to see fill out and color up the top of the tank. Thanks to all for nice comments, we're really working hard on the tank (actually Jon works really hard and I bring drinks, offer encouragement and a good back rub once in a while lol! Not entirely true, I get to help with placement, but he's the technical guy.) Maureen ps Doug: ew and gross.
  15. Oh, so lovely. How much research did you have to do/read before deciding to keep these? I was completely captivated by the sea horse display tank at the NADC meeting, then Doug's tank was tankl of the month and now you have some too! I'm hoping this means they're not as difficult to keep as I think they could be. Can we see a current full tank picture please? What are there names? Congrats on the new additions! Maureen
  16. pictures please proud papa!
  17. ] Chris, Its nice of you to help out a buddy, looking forward to a future tank tour! Looks like a beautiful day for a wedding......... Maureen
  18. Maybe he means "hair algae"?
  19. Rik, San Diego was our home turf for 13 years, did you make it out to Aquatics Warehouse? They were one our our regular reef haunts. Where'd you go? M
  20. Chris, Any chance you'd consider having the tank tour this weekend for those of us that had Sunday's tour at Terry and Patti's blocked off? May be too short notice for you and others who want to participate with you, but I thought the idea was worthy of mentioning. M
  21. No worries Terry and Patti, it is a tank tour worth waiting for (besides...........everything will have grown 2 more month's worth and be even more spectacular!) Maureen & Jon
  22. Chris, That is an ABSOLUTELY terrible day to have a tank tour, its Labor Day weekend and many will be out of town......... including us. I guess the next weekend is MACNA and no good either....... Well, best of luck with your tank tour and I'm sorry I'll miss out on it and the frags! Maureen
  23. Tim, We lived in San Diego for 13 years and enjoyed Scripps, especially when the kids were little. Favorite was the outside "hands on" displays where they could touch star fish and different creatures. Trip to Scripps............nice.................view of the Pacific ocean at sunset from Scripps..............priceless.......... Maureen
  24. check out DaveS's post in WTB: Frags for sale: Ricordias, Zoas, SPS and more, WYSIWYG pictures for most He has GSP for sale and a bunch of other frags. M
  25. Chip, Your cup coral is the centerpiece and star of the Wamas tank at NADC. I'm so glad you didn't cut it up and donated it instead. Thanks, Maureen
