  1. Hey Wamas family, I am back and looking for a tank for my family and I to start up. It's been a long time! Hope all are well. I live in Orange Virginia now and would love to find something close to there but will travel. Man, it feels good to be back on this site!
  2. I hope this is acceptable by forum rules. I am getting out and just really need this lot of stuff gone. I had a really hard time getting things posted picture wise through the forum and the pinned post about how to do it is out dated I think so here is a link to the craigslist post. Any how, if you all will allow me to do it this way just this once, I would appreciate it. It has been a great ride but all good things must come to an end. I know that these items will come in handy for someone. Thanks again for all the good advice, live stock, and equipment over the years. Time to move on to something new. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/for/5962689383.html
  3. What would be a good skimmer for the center part of a JBJ 24 gallon Nano-Cube?
  4. So I have two videos of the clowns hosting on you tube that I am trying to add here. The instructions provided for adding a video are out dated unfortunately. Can anyone help?
  5. Alright, all this meat conversation is killing me. I am crying I am laughing so hard and my co-workers are looking at me like I am crazy. Thanks for the unintended humor.
  6. I wanted to take some last night Tom but I didn't want to disturb the magic. I hope to get some video with my phone tonight and I will post it if it comes out. Thanks for posting and reading.
  7. Hello WAMAS, I inherited a tank about a month ago from a friend. This 24 gallon Nano-Cube came with a candy cane pistol shrimp and a paired ( not yet mated) set of clowns. The female is a Misbar True Perc and the male is a False Perc. On Monday, my man Vince at Quantum hooked me up with a gorgeous GBTA. Last night I had the extreme pleasure of witnessing the pair discover their nem. The female is loving this thing. The male is still showing great trepidation about hosting but she is convincing him otherwise. I was up till 2am gawking as things unfolded. I LOVE THIS HOBBY!!! Just thought I would share. Thanks Quantum Reefs for the light, the nem, and all the help and support!
  8. Hey Reeling Reefer, I am not 100% sure if there is a standard answer to this question. In my experience with RODI units, the best way to tell if you need to change something is to test the output water for TDS. The DI resin changes color as it ages so that is a no brainer. As for the sediment filter and the carbon filter maybe someone with a bit more experience can chime in. I have always had units that produce gpd amounts that greatly exceed my needs. I test for tds every six months and based on my use and what the unit is rated for change as needed. I hope that helps but I don't think I told you anything that you were not already aware of. Lets see if someone smarter than myself (just about anyone... ) will chime in. Thanks for reading and asking a great question.
  9. Thanks for the input Seanoli, I agree, water production is slow. I almost went with the 100gpd with hopes that it would make water faster. Instead I started reviewing the booster pump and I think I am going to go that route. Aquatic Life claims that the booster pump will flush the RO membrane before each use and that it increases clean water output drastically while also drastically reducing waste water output. So I am going to get one next week and see if the claims are true. Thanks for reading.
  10. Hey Starfish, Thanks for posting. Tell me, do you use the booster pump by Aquatic Life? Also, what has been your experience with replacing media? My only reservation was that some of the reviews claimed that the refills were hard to come by and very expensive. Thanks for reading.
  11. My pleasure to share. With products popping up every where and prices rising for everything, I find reviews on products really help us all make decision and ultimately save time, money, and frustration. Thanks for reading.
  12. Thanks for reading. I had never heard of this unit and found it by accident on Amazon. After watching a few videos from the Aquatic Life Website, I decided to take the plunge. How long have you had yours? Do you also use the "Smart buddie" Booster Pump? I am going to order one next week but I wanted to check out the RODI unit first.
  13. Got up this morning and I am happy to say that the only water I found was in the bucket and the washing machine. This little "RO Buddie" is great. My tap water is coming out a beautiful 0ppm. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a RO unit. They also make a 100 gpd model. The shipping was incredible. I got it in the day after I ordered it. The packing was also impressive. The box had an insert that had the units box shrink wrapped to it. There was no way it was going to move around during shipping. I give this 3 snaps in a "Z" formation...lol Thanks for reading
