  1. Thanks Moga, very nice of you to try and help him out. Maureen
  2. Tim, Sorry for the loss, he was a beautiful fish. Will you keep BTA or find another home and get a new favorite fish? Maureen
  3. Can anyone in the College Park area help out this student? from Craig's List: Looking for a free aquarium, 2.5 or 5 or 10 gal (University of College Park) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reply to: sale-654040948@craigslist.org Date: 2008-04-23, 10:51PM EDT The title says it all. As soon as the semester ends, I'm going to attempt to do a small project involving the breeding of Endler's Livebearers. I'll try to do a pick-up, but all I've got is my bike and cannot get too far off campus. Have a great week. Seems like a worthy cause. Maureen Location: University of College Park it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 654040948
  4. Thanks for trying, I appreciate your efforts. I guess you'll have to do a tank tour some day and show him off. Have a great day, Maureen
  5. Hope you'll be able to post a picture in the future, he sounds pretty awesome. Enjoy, Maureen
  6. HOORAY! So very happy and excited for you. (loved your post) Can't wait to see what you have in store next. Maureen
  7. Sean, Sorry we can't make your Grand Opening celebration, we'll be out of town all weekend. Perhaps we can stop in the week following................if there is anything left! Best wishes, Maureen ps- if you're willing to open an additional store up north I think it only fair you consider opening up a 3rd further south............. just food for thought.
  8. We anticipate becoming repeat/regular customers. Sean has a great set-up, is incredibly knowledgeable, has a great selection and good pricing for some nice sized pieces of coral (we were there just after opening and fish were somewhat limited). He also offers Wamas members a 10% discount. We're going back soon. There are some great comments on "Vendor Forums" under "The Aquarium Company". Maureen
  9. I'm sorry for your misfortune, but glad you shared. It's good to know for the future. We're buying a lot of of things through the mail as we restart our 125. Maureen
  10. Its a beautiful drive up 29 for us, and about 45 minutes. The store has what seems to be a small footprint, and yet it is actually extremely well stocked and efficiently laid out with all kinds of critters, fish and corals. We can easily spend over over 2 hours just looking at everything. Jon and I were back for our 2nd visit in 2 weeks a few days ago and picked out some beautiful fish that have transitioned to the quarantine tanks very well. The prized blue/purple ricordia with 10+ heads is thriving. And all the corals/frags from our first visit are doing well too. Customer service is excellent, and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and fun. Thanks Pete, for taking such great care of us a second time, I promise to bake you cookies next visit! And thanks to John and his entire staff, you're all great. We'll see you again soon, Maureen & Jon
  11. Brian, We've got our fingers crossed for you! Wishing you the best. Maureen & Jon
  12. Taking a taxi isn't as intimidating as it may sound, honest. Ask how much to go to "XYZ" before you get in. Hopefully you'll meet up with other snorkelers on the ship and get a group together. Disposable cameras are only okay at best, but definitely cheaper at a local store than on the ship. When are planning on going? M
  13. I think your stand and tank are beautiful. I'm checking for updates and pictures daily! Best of luck, hope to see it in person some time. (This is my new dream tank/stand). M
  14. Chris, Congrats to you and BRK! I enjoyed meeting you at the meeting very much and am looking forward to seeing you in the store (I think Jon and I are planning a trip in this Thursday). Our corals are doing great! Thanks again, Maureen
  15. Jon and I have taken a couple of cruises and snorkeled. The best experience was probably Belize, but it wasn't as long an outing as we hoped it would be (Lots of time in transit). If we go again we're going to ask if you can book both the morning and afternoon excursions and possibly stay on the mini-island they built on the reef in between. We had a guided tour and then snorkeled more on our own. It isn't very deep, but it was awesome. On Cozumel, we took our own snorkel gear and took a taxi to the state park (20 mins). They have a lovely beach with umbrellas that you can swim/snorkel right off of. We stayed for hours. Not a reef environment, and perhaps some too carefully placed artifacts like cannons and statues, but the fish were awesome. Due to bad weather, we didn't get to go snorkeling as planned on Grand Cayman, but have heard of lots of folks who have and loved it. Catch a taxi to cemetary reef. You literally walk through a cemetary to the beach. Go with a group. Ask the taxi to pick you up at a specific time. Again, bring your own gear. As excursions can be pretty expensive, going on your own can be affordable, but also a much longer outing. Bring underwater disposable cameras with you as they are expensive on board. Have a great time, it is a fanatastic experience. Maureen
