Very nice Chad! I am going to duplicate this. I am sick of water changes.

The radiums are just like the old ones with the stamped metal plate. I called fishy business and he pulled a few bulbs out and said there was the same variation in bulbs on the shelf. I will try to take a picture today.

I ordered two new radium 250 SE bulbs. One looks new and has the other looks like the bulbs I removed. More specifically, the inner "bulb" is clear on the old ones and one new one. The inner bulb on the other new one has something in it that looks like paint? I thought that Radiums had this when new and as you use them it goes away. I am thinking someone returned a used bulb and they sent it to me... any experience with this? Could the new radium have a clear inside "bulb"?

I dont know if I will try to raise them.... anyone else care to try?

I was in BRK Saturday buying carbon to refill my carbon reactor which has been seriously neglected for a few months. The new guy at BRK(sorry i dont remember his name) suggested polyfilter as an alternative to carbon. I have never tried it so I bought a pack ($40, omg) and put it in the tank. I was going to run carbon and poly filter but haven't gotten around to dealing with the carbon. The next day, which was yesterday, I noticed snails spitting out their white juice which I assume is spawning of some sort... then I saw my carpet anemone start releasing a white ooze... then I noticed a few things I have never seen before! The largest brittle stars in my tank (hundreds) came out of their hiding places and climbed up my sps and started releasing what I believe to be eggs. They were tiny red dots, hundreds if not thousands per tiny star fish. The fish were eating it as the stars released it. I have never seen this happen in my few years in the hobby. Now for the icing on the cake... my pair of clowns became a mated pair today and have laid eggs. One is solid black and the other is orange. What is happening in my tank? I assume it is a good thing?

These guys have been together for a few years and I have never seen eggs... until today... What would the babies look like?

I dont know anyone using the kold sterile system. RODI is what everyone uses. Air Water Ice, Bulk Reef Supply. I use SpectraPure products but they are very expensive.

That SUCKS! I will hook you up with free frags when you are stable again.

lol. Kalk is King. I did test my water a few weeks ago for the first time since March. My parameters were low so I did two water changes and things look good again. I need to test again.

Thanks, I will get a FTS up asap. the camera itself is waterproof. Canon D10. Stick it in the tank, rinse with freshwater, let it dry then open to DL the pics. It is an awesome camera for this purpose.

I have two barrels you can use. I think one is 55 and the other 35 or 40. LMK.

IMHO, deltec skimmer suck. Blah blah blah.... they are high quality... I spent the money.. I am not satisfied... Deltec skimmers are a joke. just my opinion. If you are the best, your products will perform and do so easily. they dont. The name is not worth the price. It is time people realize this. I have bought all the rest, then I bought deltec. They are not that much better. I have $1000.00 in deltec equipment that is worth $200.00 Thats my opinion. I will buy a grey seas skimmer next. Why experiment with 600-1000$$ skimmers when you can do the same thing for much less money.

Anyone else wake up this AM thinking their house was going to fall down? I jumped out of bed and turned off the A/C because I thought it was the cause of the crazy noise... I just saw on the news it was a 3.6 quake. WOW.

Both are excellent choices. I had a Sailfin, Naso, Hippo, Purple and Yellow all living peacefully in a 220 at one time. Enjoy!

You guys missed the most important part.... you can't run Radiums in a DE fixture.... I agree with the light spread.

you probably fragged it and now have two! just put them in a place where they can heal... (not too much flow but not too stagnant)(not too much light, but enough light)... whatever that means... good luck!

Are you asking if we think you should clean your glass? I vote yes, I can't see any downside to doing so. lol
