  1. cool! thanks! what do they run?
  2. What fish or other aqarium inhabitant will eat exclusively sponge?
  3. Thanks Tom! yes with deep scratches they may be impossible to remove, or cause a "pooling" on the area where it was. But on light scratches, you wont notice anything. Very similar to marble floors. With marble floors we always recommend polishing the entire floor, because it is very difficult to match the finish. I dont know how it will work on glass (looking at an angle, looking at corals through the repaired surface. if I did get this stuff I would do a few test runs on crappy tanks (doh, I just gave away one) and see what the results are. It wouldn't be cool to remove a scratch but then have a "pool". It also wouldn't be cool for the glass to have a higher polish or lower polish than the rest of the glass. I wouldn't be doing the work, I would use a highly trained technician that does this work on marble floors, granite countertops, etc. again, just seeing if there is a need for this. I wouldn't be buying this just to help you guys, I would be marketing to existing clients we have!
  4. looks great. You have alot of nice pieces. LMK if you ever frag those acans, I will trade you some nice stuff!
  5. Thanks Troy, if I do get the equipment I will do yours for free! lol... maybe you can do the fish tank repairs for me? I wouldn't make much off of the tanks but if you imagine the amount of glass out there and how much of it gets etched or scratched... traditionally you have to replace the glass... now you can polish the scratches out! The fish tanks would just be one of many markets... but obviously the smaller tanks would be cheaper to replace... but what if you got a new $1500 starphire tank and scratched is when putting it on the stand? Then $150 is a very small price.
  6. It would be about $50/hour if you bring the tank here and $75/hour at your house. I would imagine it would take 1-3 hours depending on the number of scratches and the depth of the scratches. I am just seeing if this is possible at the moment, I haven't officially started doing this.
  7. if the scratches are on the outside...
  8. Hey Guys! I am thinking about adding glass restoration to our list of services and wanted to see if anyone has scratches in glass tanks that they would be willing to pay to remove? We want to start marketing the service and buy the equipment to do work on office buildings, hotels, home windows, car windows, etc and I would also be able to provide this service on fish tanks. So, who has scratches on the tank they need removed? Or windows with scratching/etching at home? Here is a link that shows the process and machines. http://www.srpglassrestoration.com/srp_video.cfm
  9. good to hear! Everything he has made for me has been great!
  10. Welcome! Tank looks good!
  11. power flickered here, turned off the TV for a min.... only 6" and problems all ready.... glad I have a generator to keep the fish warm!!
  12. I am going with 25" in 20175, Leesburg
  13. I put new Radiums in (thanks Sean) and I changed my T5 bulbs to 1 daylight bulb, 2 pure actinic and 1 actinic +. I might change a pure actinic for an actinic +. I really like what the single daylight bulb did for the overall look of the tank.
  14. Canon Powershot D10 - waterproof to 33 ft - shock resistant - 12.1 MP
  15. Thanks guys! Underwater cameras are the best thing ever!
  16. nice! I thought you were selling stuff to pay for a new tank.... uh huh... I think you need the intervention. Nice nem tho, I call first split!
  17. No hermits here! Mainly in case I have to treat with interceptor.
  18. where in the world did you get that?
  19. my DC8 is whacked out and turns stuff on and off randomly. I have almost gotten all my stuff off of it. Not sure the issue but after 2 months of trying to figure out what was wrong with my lights... I figured out it was the AC3/DC8. +1 for calling. they will help you I just haven't had a chance to deal with them.
  20. darn that is nice... how much was that bad boy?
  21. Last night I picked up the top off tank for my new tank and last year I had a custom sump built. The quality of both is/was awesome and the prices were excellent. He even hooked me up with another member who was driving out to his place for another pick up so it saved me the drive! Great job! Almost too nice for a water reservoir! Thanks Jeff!
  22. I had a bad stink bug problem a few months ago. Very strange, they swarmed my house. I was getting 5-10 per day in the tank because it is right next to the main door we use. I am sure there are a few I cant find still in there... no issues to speak of... Now we dont have near as many but there are still some in the house. We find one every few days.
  23. I used to run just radiums on my other tank with no supplements. I now run radiums with t5s. I have tried different T5's with Radiums. If I were you, I would skip the T5 and run just radiums. The only compromises are growth and the sunrise/sunset effect and it may be initially too blue but you will grow to love it.. Thats my opinion.
  24. haha dont u love when you think you are screwing up but you are really doing well? lol
