  1. Chip, Work for a free RBTA farming tour. KLee
  2. I would like to thank Mark for helping me run 3 new 15 amps power circuits over the weekend. The job was done by a professional electrician and I am now feeling full confident that I have plenty of power and no longer find my powerstrip flipped because of plugged in an extra device, from which it causes shortage of power. Mark did a very nice, clean job. We started at 8:30AM, went over to Lowes to pick up all the materials involved. We were done by 12:40PM (Mark initially estimates we would be done by 1PM). I was able to make it to my daughter dance recital. I no longer worry about my powerstrip might fall into the sumps. Yes, I am electrical wiring challenge until now. He showed me the How To steps by steps. But I won't touch that control panel and will rely on my professional electrician Mr. CHUBAKAH from now. We need lots of people like Mark that is happy to give a helping hand to a fellow WAMASer anytime when we are in need. Long in enuff Thanks. I owe you one Mark, Mr. pleasant and nice guy. Now I can connect my AQUA III Controller. Yes! KLee
  3. I will wait for Bob YBeNormal, chip, rik, NAGA, Dandy or Bob Lanman to chime in for sound adivse on the thickness and material appropriate for your stand as it is in water weight distribution on the strength of the 2x4.
  4. Shouldn't be once the new stand base of 24x24 has cover all tank base and uniformly spread out the stress. Just make usre the new stand base is a thick and strong material that will hold up your tank.
  5. Mission: I am setting up auto-topoff for a 55G LPS tank. - Using a JBJ auto-topoff on the 150G and very happy with it as it's a reliable device. I was wondering what everyone thinks of the CoralVue topoff device for 2/3 price of JBJ? http://www.reefspecialty.com/coralvue-elec...itch-p-235.html Thanks, KLee
  6. How about make a new top of 24x24 and put on top of the stand to hold the tank's base?
  7. Try iodine dip to see if that helps healing its wound.
  8. FYI - The guy whom has received his frag from the first bid on ebay, took a pic and posted on RC today. He thinks this is a new morph of prism favia and not a chalice. Be careful if you're in the current bid for a 2nd frag of this favia/chalice. KLee
  9. I took one by one pieces of rock out of the tank and scrubbed it niece and clean. Wash it with tank water, then re-aquascaping. Run carbon reactor with new carbon, less feeding for two weeks, clean out skimmer and change 5 gallon bucket of new mixed water every 4 days. After 3 weeks, things look good again. Make sure your RO/DI has new filter replacements.
  10. The Reefchili website version is a very first generation, rowdy propeller. I have those Howard. That version is no where comparable to the SureFlo version.
  11. If the mod kit is not the sureflo mod kit (the newer mod that AQUACO or marine depot is carrying) then I have no idea. What I do know is the SureFlo mod kit works super quiet and the early generation no name mod kit came from one of the website (forgot), was selling for $20 about 1 year 1 month ago, came in plastic bag instead of nice commercial printed box like the SureFlo, then that kit makes lots of noisy with the propeller switching back and forth in reverse motion. I still have two of those laying on the basement, no used. Hate it.
  12. auctioning time and buy more other frags. Make a lemonade out of a lime, I guess.
  13. I'll stick with MJ1200 and purchase the sureflo mod kit + sure grip magnet. Performance is way ....... better than Koralia, much more powerful and taking up much less space than Koralia. 2 of MJ1200 mod are better than 3 Koralia 4. I am able to reduce 1 less Koralia 4 and the tank looks less cluttering with powerheads. In fact, I am in the process of converting back to MJ1200 mod from current Koralia. Howard: You can swing by my place and get the Koralia to try out and see how it looks in your tank. It might look clutter with a 48" length. 3 stand out points with MJ option: - Very reliable powerhead - Kick butts performance with the mod kit - Save money since you already have the MJ.
  14. If the plan is acquiring scooter blenny, then ditto on Davelin's comment: "it's the lack of food sources". The scooter blenny will not make it after a month or two from starving and using up its body reserve.
  15. Good eyes Jason!
  16. All very Cool Pixes! June POTM!
  17. You guys crack me up. Good laughs.
  18. It does have a little extra blue actinic on. However, I've seen a rainbow acan in person from a friend's Acans. Usually commands twice pricier in cost and this is a nice frag.
  19. Not an Acan fan; however, posting here for the local reefers to check out. http://www.oceaninabox.com/servlet/the-94/...c-dsh-21/Detail
  20. Like Chris giving a hint on above. To heavily stock all your favorite fishes in a tank, we will need help to skim all the waste output from the bioload of fishes. Best way is to oversize our skimmer and bigger sump to add water volume. I'll take my tank as an example: 26/27 fishes in a 150G tank with lots of rocks and corals. Majorities are small fishes such as green chromis, anthias, wrasses, flame angel. Big fishes are: majestic angel, 2 yellow tangs, 1 black tang, 1 hippo tang, 1 foxface. And they all in good health with the help of a Deltec 851. The tank has 72" length, that helps for the tangs to swim around and not get too much stress from fighting for own territory; however, I can see they will be a lot happier if there is more room for them to swim. Your two tangs are very big, adding a small tang probably will not survive the aggressiveness of the Zebrasoma tang species. Even with a bigger skimmer, space will be your issue if not already. I'd say save up, upgrade to 300G and will be able to stock all your listed tangs. HTH, KLee
  21. Here is a quick observation, the new sureflo mod kit works very nice as far as water flow. The kit comes with two impellers, a default smaller one is to push out at 1600gph rate, the large impeller is rating at 2100gph. I switched out the smaller impeller and put in the larger impeller with the old maxijet 1200. Place the newly mod kit in and it kicks some behinds in a small QT 55G tank. Sand was flying on the other end even when I tilt the maxijet up. No problem. Move it over to the 150G and switch over the Koralia 4 to the 55G tank. I really like the sureflo mod kit running with the maxijet combination. Very quiet. One thing is, the kit does not have a suction cup magnet like the Koralia does. Will be ordering a Suremagnet kit tonight to plug in this new mod kit and will have worry free with these powerhead falling off the glass. Yup, I'll vote for the maxijet with mod kit and Suremagnet kit. Much smaller looking than Koralia and push out some serious flow. Well, this will be the new kits until the next tank to drill holes for close loops and be done with powerheads. Correction: Suremagnet = Sure Grip magnet kit KLee
  22. Larry, I'll update you on the sureflow kit tonight. Have been using Koralia 4 since they just came out and they are very reliable just like maxijet, plus nice design on magnet holder. The three Koralias 4 have been going 1 years 3 months without any cleaning. A fourth one died after 11 months. What I like about Koralia 4 is reliability, magnetic base holder, quiet and ability to till the powerhead to any angles we like. Price is right. Disadvantage is: its size is a little bit larger than other powerhead, which can be a negative point in smaller size tanks. Maxijet with sureflo kit: Purchased an early generation from a guy on the web but the impeller/propeller didn't work too well and noisy everytime the impeller got stuck or change its direction. The sureflo has received better reviews now, so I am going to give it another try tonight. To be find out. KLee
  23. Congrat Chris! Sugar Magnolia: use a razor blade and cut right thru the body if the mouth already splitted. Same/difference technique that Chip showed us.
  24. Carla, I would get the UPS to confirm that they never delivered the package in email or some sort of UPS ticket tracking system (if they have it). Get the ticket #, then give the # to your online vendor and have them refund right away. That's up to the vendor to work it out with UPS after UPS confirmed they are at fault. KLee Correction: Carla = Inna. My apology to both.
