This is still a big mystery to me. For the past 2 days I cannot find my Coral Beauty Dwarf Angel! I've had this fish for over a year, and it's been healthy and doing really well. It was about 3" - beautiful deep blue and orange colors. Once in a while it got chased by my Kole Tang, but other than that it's been a pretty neutral tank. Until... but let me get to that later.
My tankmates at present:
2 - Percula Clownfish (maybe Ocellaris - who can really tall them apart?)
1 - 2" Hippo Tang
1 - 2.5" Kole Tang
1 - 1.5" Royal Gramma
1 - 3.5" Watchman Goby
1 - 1.5" Spotted Mandarin -- R.I.P. 8/16/06
1 - 3" Coral Beauty (??)
1 - Coral banded shrimp
1 - Pistol shrimp
the usual hermits and snails
A week ago I've introduced a Pistol Shrimp. Ever since the tank has been a mess. Sand storm, new sandbed tunnels, caves, etc. I've been noticing that the Coral Beauty has been hiding more than usual. But it would always come out during feeding, and I clearly remember seeing it couple days ago. With all the sand polution going on, I've been paying attention to the Pistol Shrimp and not my other fish, so I don't exactly remember the last time I seen it - possibly Saturday - when Carla (Valeria) stopped by to get some frags.
Then Sunday night, after the lights went out, I've introduced a new fish. A 4" Majestic (Blue Girdled) Angel that I rescued couple of weeks ago. I know I know... shouldn't mix Pomacanthidaes together, especially in a 60 gal reef, but since Coral Beauty is an dwarf angel and majestic is a true angel (and much bigger), I figured the Majestic won't mess too much with the Coral Beauty. Was I that wrong?
The next day (Monday) I get home from work and Coral Beauty is nowhere to be seen. Majestic Angel is acting still a bit shy, cautiously coming out from one of the caves while feeding, and swiftly going back in. Not acting agressive at all. Other fish are acting normal, not really concerned that there is a new guy in the reef.
So what could have happened? Could the Majestic have killed the Dwarf Angel within 4-5 hrs of lights coming on and my arrival from work? Why can't I find the remains? I've searched every crevice with a flashlight, to no avail. How long does it take for a 3" fat angelfish to fully decompose in the reef tank? (haven't noticed any increased skimmate production. I just can't believe a Majestic is the guilty one (although he makes for a pretty good scape-goat) Any ideas?

PS. There is no way a fish could have jumped. The tank is sealed with glass covers.
