  1. Whoa she did good! Very cool
  2. After reading the various threads on R2R I wouldn't bother telling them when shipping every once and awhile. I would just pay extra attention and care packaging which would be the case regardless. Even more so if all you are shipping are some hydroids. Someone want to experiment with your hydroids?
  3. I have had one in use for a little over a year. Like anything else some people don't like them some do. I like mine it works just fine. I like that its small, no moving parts and 2 wires. Things are already a mess of wires so anywhere I can save on the clutter is a plus for me. My only complaint is that anytime the alarm goes off (reservoir empty, not aligned properly) you have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it. Not as big of a deal since its on an apex but still annoying. I also have a Tunze which you can't go wrong with.
  4. If available ill take one. I can pick up tonight.
  5. Shoot me a price and pic of the black ice pair if you could please.
  6. http://www.pvas.com http://gwapa.org/wordpress/ http://www.capitalcichlids.org/index.php
  7. I haven't finished it yet but as is correct it would be wrong. I still have to add the load bearing 2x4's on the inside of the top and bottom "boxes" if that makes sense. Just following the old rocketengineer thread on RC.
  8. Sort of. At least for a few more days. After my basement issues I sold both my tanks and moved everything over to a 50g tub. The tub got boring pretty quick. We also knew wanted something "easier" upstairs. The only suitable place was already my pups so... Hopefully I can finish it this weekend. After seeing them at MACNA I knew what tank I wanted just not the price. I waited for black friday and sure enough it went on sale. I clicked some buttons, drained my wallet and it arrived today. IM Lagoon 50 The plan is to reuse as much equipment as possible. No skimmer. All acan and zoas along with my current fish (yellow tang, tail spot blenny, sixline wrasse, and some snowflake clowns. Oh my nem too. As for equipment I have and will use: ATI 6x24W Dimmable SunPower Cobalt Neotherm heater Apex Maxspect XF130 Icecap Gyre Module Smart ATO I will be in the need of a custom ATO reservoir to go behind this tank and want to add a 24" Reefbrite to the front. Other then that I have everything ready to go. Just have to put it together... My biggest debate now is BB or Sand? Sand might win as my gf really wants a goby/pistol shrimp combo. We'll see. This should hold me off while I get around to the big tank. Sorry for the huge pics.
  9. I have the same question for sps frags. As of now I just scrub with a toothbrush but it's not that effective. Anything else I peroxide dip with no fear.
  10. Ordered one For the regular price I would have went with a Geo unit but at the sale price I jumped on this. Like last year I spent way too much with BRS... My main focus was to upgrade my BRS RO/DI unit. Bought the 150gpd upgrade and 6 stage upgrade. Haven't had any issues with my current setup but wanted to make sure I was set and like the idea of making water faster with less waste. The last item I bought you will have to keep an eye out for in the build section soon
  11. I found one once a long time ago that must have made it through the dip as an egg. Luckily it was in my frag tank so it was easy to pull all my zoas to dip them. I did not want to take any chances. I did bayer dip every 5 days. I think I did a total of 3-4 treatments before I felt confident anything that may have hatched was dead. haven't spotted any since.
  12. I agree about the mounting. It keeps drawing my attention to it instead of the tank which looks awesome. I want all the focus on the tank so I went with these for Kessil and Radions I have had in the past. While my current lights are hung (MH) this is bar far the cleanest setup. No cords in sight! Install is easy as well. http://www.reeflightmounts.com/hydra-26-mount-hydra-52-mount.htm
  13. I am doing this soon myself. Planning to get a Deep Blue 60. I will use both holes in the overflow for a herbie. I will then drill the back glass for the return. My other idea is to cap off both holes and cut out the overflow. Drill the back for an external overflow and return.
  14. Interested. Do you know roughly how many pounds are in each box? Will pm later.
  15. This. Looks like your hard work is paying off congrats!
  16. So I was already daydreaming of upgrading and then my basement got some water damage... Luckily no where near my tanks but regardless have to move them out to redo the floor. Great chance to upgrade minus the whole cost of upgrading thing....hoping to be able to use a lot of my equipment from this build onto the next one. I have my eyes set on what I want next but first this ones gotta go!
  17. It is something I had not put thought into until I went on a snorkeling trip in Key West last month and they provided us with this. http://www.tropicalseas.com/products/reef-safe-sunscreen-spf-30
  18. I have a 6 bulb Ati. I run 2 Coral+, 1 Purple+, and 3 Blue+. Next go around I will switch the Purple out for another Blue.
  19. I made a box out of egg crate and zip ties for my skimmer.
  20. Yup I liked the gray with blue look so I used all schd 80. 80 is a little over kill but nothing wrong with that and no issues. Sch 80 fittings are a little harder to find at stores like lowes or home depot so I ordered them all from Amazon.
  21. I have blue on one tank orange on the other. I love the blue and will use it next time. The orange ended up looking more red with my led lights under the stand.
  22. Fresh 10g 29g 40L 75g 125g Saltwater 40B 34g Frag 100g 100g Tub
  23. Nice pick up. I like it. Mind Pm'ing me your stand builder info?
