  1. Thanks Jon! Would that defer for all of the above or just the PH?
  2. So I set up a few simple alerts maybe a year ago and just recently I started to get this email once or twice a day. Date: 2018-02-03 21:00:54 -0500 Status: ON Statement: If pH > 8.50 Then ON (8.51) The problem is my ph is right around 8.1 or 8.2. It’s never even close to 8.5 even if I look back at my graph it does not come close to 8.5. Is there a way to add a time delay so the ph would have to maintain greater than 8.5 for 30 seconds to limit false alarms or is there a mistake/flaw in my statement below. Set OFF If Temp > 82.0 Then ON If Temp < 75.0 Then ON If pH > 8.50 Then ON I also want to add an alarm for my ato so if the pump runs longer than one minute but I can start a new thread or look into that more later. Thanks for any suggestions.
  3. Sorry to derail the thread.. Have you tried a poly pad to see if it will absorb the nickel? They say they absorb copper and other heavy metals. I have never used one myself.
  4. Now how about a video of those nems
  5. https://www.fishnreef.com/lps-corals/red-chalice.html This has the wrong photo attached to it. They are nice zoas though
  6. Even though zoas are more my thing I don’t expect at all to win. Things take a bit to get used to my system and I’ll most likely have one polyp at the end. I entered for the reason Dan mentioned above, to add a nice polyp to the collection. I also joined hoping it would make me pay a little more attention to the tank, with my kids it gets neglected~
  7. Day 1 of captivity: So hear I am shoved in bag, traveled all across northern VA, shoved from container to container through god knows what types of chemicals, acclimated to different waters and what not, and now I am just a bit upset, placed here in a new system, different lights, different elements, sheesh leave me alone already!! My new captors are a bit on the crazy side. I am trying to figure out who the new ring leader is. I see two younger mates who enjoy showing me their race cars as they race across the front of the aquarium. I see a cute lady who stops by once and awhile to look inside and this one bearded dude who looked as if he was trying to get some sort of info together.. this is what I was able to make out: Main Tank and Equipment: 75g Deep Blue Reef Ready 29g Deep Blue Sump (wanted the matching black silicone) Jebao RW-15 with apex conrtroller 36" 4 lamp t5 ATI - all Blue+ lamps 36" Reefbrite XHO Tech Blue w/dimmer hooked to Apex for dusk/dawn Bubble magus curve 9 skimmer Avast reactor with bio pellet adapter running bio pellets Apex controller 2- BRS dosers using BRS 2 part Roughly 80 Lbs Reef cleaners reef saver rock Parameters: Calcium 410 dKH 9.3 Temp 77 Salinity 1.026 All others unknown. I do 15% water changes bi-weekly most of the time but shoot for every week using Instant Ocean. I also have a couple zoas when they do not look too happy I will do a 15% water change and that seems to clear it up. Maybe that is when my nitrates start to creep(shrugs). I feed the tank LRS Reef Frenzy daily and target feed my acans weekly.
  8. I had a black sponge start to take off once. I used hydrogen peroxide in small doses to kill it off. If it stayed on the underside of my rocks I would have left it but it was spreading everywhere pretty quick.
  9. Thanks for taking care of all of this Dan! Are you going to start a new thread for monthly shots? I’ll try and get a picture of mine tomorrow and some tank info together for my first post.
  10. Some sort of Hawaiian PE
  11. Have you ever used Enchytraeus buchholzi or Grindal Worms for fish food Paul? I know some people use them for fish food and was just curious if you had any experience with them or have specific reasons you stick with the Enchytraeus albidus.
  12. Close to a daisy duke but I am not sure. Ben would most likely know.
  13. Do you turn your ato pump off, remove one gallon, then add a gallon during your AWC? Or Add a gallon and then remove a gallon so your float doesn't turn your ato on?
  14. No real updates. Things are starting to fill in but there's room for more I think for the most part my tank has leveled out. Algae seems to be under control and my six line has entered jerk stage.. These were taken with my phone and in a hurry so excuse the blurs haha My favorite coral at the moment..
  15. So in hopes of generating some more Tank Of The Month nominations I offered up two gift certificates worth 50$ to Supreme Reefs which I won at our last meeting. I would like to thank everyone who took their time to nominate someone! That generated several nominations and gave this feature of the club a little boost. The Board had a discussion and decided to take this a step further and agreed to a program where WAMAS will provide 20$ worth the raffle tickets at the next meeting for both the TOTM winner and to the nominee of the winner starting with Januarys winner and moving forward. So please if you see a nice/unique setup, NOMINATE IT!! Thank you everyone!!
  16. Hard to tell from my phone but look up mulluscs, limpets, and chitons. Could be one of those.
  17. Not to high jack a thread but you have a FTS Tommy?
  18. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This is the last time I will bump this. You still have a week left to nominate someone. If your having a hard time or if your not sure your nomination(s) went through feel free to send me a pm or comment here. I'll let you know if it went through or I can nominate on your behalf. Thank you and have a safe holiday!
  19. You want to maximize the contact time the water column has to pass the lamp so I would stick with what Chip is saying vs the information above. I had one on my freshwater but never used one on my reef tank.
