  1. No it has a second head and most likely did when it was fragged. These grow out challenges can be difficult because it's not possible to frag all of them the same. Some polyps end up being healthier than others from the start. In my experience I have fragged many individual polyps and held them side by side for months in the same tank. Some stayed single polyps and some turned into 4-5 polyps right next to each other. It is what it is~ I still think these contest are fun and if I didn't have too many commitments at the moment I would have joined.
  2. How are things coming along? Do you have any current pictures?
  3. Do you feed your hammer at all? A piece of mysis shrimp one or twice a week per head and it should bounce back. I doubt whatever it is growing on it is the cause. Could be too much flow also.
  4. I won't be at the meeting because I am too busy but I keep coming back to this thread trying to figure out how I can make this work. tupid responsibilities...
  5. I have a 100 gallon tub you can borrow if you chose to go that route
  6. https://www.reeftronics.net/adpg/dosingcalc.php I used this to generate the code I needed for my brs dosing pumps
  7. I have used aiptasia x on zoas before and they melted never to return. Only problem is most everything thing else it touched melted too so use at your own risk.
  8. That looks nice! Did you ever get your MH up and running upstairs?
  9. I usually have a hard time slipping out of the house to make it to most events because of the kids/wife factor. I'm glad I was able to get out, even if it was for a short bit. There was a big assortment and everything looked really healthy. It's not too late~
  10. For what it is worth I stopped by your shop looking for it once, walked out and went somewhere else for it. I also don't know what commitment you have to have with LRS to give it a shot and whether it is worth it or not~
  11. I have had a bit of an algae outbreak lately. I just ordered new membranes and filters from air water ice. We will see how that goes, I have been a firm believer in Spectrapure since the beginning...
  12. Do you dose throughout the whole day Bruce?
  13. Is .3 considered a swing in ph? I really don't know the answer to that I can say your ph is way more consistent than mine. I've often considered running the intake to my skimmer outside to see if that helps with ph. My tank is right by the rear door where we let the dog vs being in an area with little fresh air so I would have a hard time convincing the wife I need to poke a hole in her house for fresh air for the fish haha Let me know if you notice a difference. I was trying to find an article where someone mentioned corals grow at night and that's when they need alk/cal the most but I can not find it.
  14. I have often wondered about this. I do not have a fuge running a reverse light cycle which people do to help with nutrient export and to keep the ph more stable. What I do have is two dosing pumps. My alk runs at the top of every hour and my cal runs 30 minutes later 24 hours a day. My Ph stays pretty stable 8.3 in the day 8.2 at night. I have noticed after about two weeks it starts to stray a little but after I dump about 30oz of magnesium in my tank it goes right back to normal. I know some say not to chase numbers but every since I got my apex I can't help but watch the chart... One thing that all experts agree on is stability so I decided to run alk/cal all day. Most people run it at night so don't listen to me haha
  15. You also do not want to dose at the same time. I'm not sure if you do or not but wait at least a half hour or so between alk and calcium.
  16. As long as the hammer broke at the hard skeleton, glue that bad boy back together. No one will ever know, well outside of this thread :p
  17. That's a nice sump! Has anyone heard from the Duff man? He had one of the nicest builds going and then poof! He's gone
  18. This is one of a few diy plans. It's from Reef Central so if this link is not allowed... my bad! http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2082524
  19. Upload them To a photo sharing site and copy and paste the img link
  20. It's the 0 ppm out that matters! Once that goes up is when you need to change your filters
  21. I'm glad you never got out (I thought you did) That's a sweet tank!
