  1. I got the pump, shelf, and tube holder but not the containers. I already had everything mixed up in their own jugs so I didn't think they were necessary at this point. Maybe later on down the line I'll get them just to make things look nicer but I'm fine without them for now.
  2. I've been debating about it for a while now but finally decided tonight was the night to treat myself and I ordered the Bubble Magus Dosing pump system! Should be here late this week and I hope to have it up and running the beginning of next week. So excited to not have to manually dose everything each day!!!
  3. Looks great! Do you have an ATO setup?
  4. Not sure if it translates to all fish but I know with some fish like salmon and such they can determine the age by the size of a bone in their "ear". Essentially the same as counting the rings on a tree trunk. But of course for this method the fish has to have already died.
  5. Thanks guys! Those are some superman shrooms up front. The red on blue contrast really makes them look good in b&w.
  6. That's awesome! Ever have any trouble with them picking at your SPS polyps? I used to have one and he was one of my favorite fish but had to give him away because he started going after the hard corals. Do you think you will raise some of the fry eventually?
  7. Looks awesome! That's an impressive looking toadstool!
  8. I've never used that one before but it looks just like the Hannah checkers which are just put the regent in and away it goes. It looks like it has the same resolution and accuracy as the Hannah as well with the same price.
  9. Also, is that arch glued together or just stacked? Would hate to see that thing topple!
  10. I like the arch on the right but the left side bugs me a little. I really like some good open stand bed space.
  11. All that should be needed is to place it on the ring and not the case. Best of luck to you!
  12. I would try some extra lubricant on the O-ring. My underwater camera housing is the same way. If you don't get that O-ring properly lubed up, it doesn't seal as well.
  13. We'll see how well the Red Sea works for me and if not, I'll probably give the Hannah a shot.
  14. Thanks guys. I'm going to give the Red Sea one a try for now. I have their Alk/Cal/Mg kit and love it! Need something a little easier to use for P04 other than the crappy API kit.
  15. Anyone have any thoughts on the Red Sea vs the Hannah Checker for a phosphate test kit? Or any other good recommendations that don't involve hard to tell color cards.
  16. Amazing tank! I noticed you didn't paint the back of the tank, any particular reason?
  17. I could be wrong but I could only ever get mine to dose once a day and not every hour.
  18. Not sure about those guys but some clowns can reach 25+ years!
  19. Based on the fewer dorsal spines, shape of the dorsal fin, orange eyes, and small amount of black, I'm going to say that they are bit true perculas.
  20. Sorry to hear about the problems. Add some garlic juice to the frozen food.
  21. Thanks! All of the corals I got from you are doing amazing! Let me know when go to move. I would love to provide your red planet with a nice home .
  22. Very nice! I love tanks that span multiple rooms and/or are viewable from multiple rooms. What's on the stock list?
  23. I'm liking the tank. Are you doing a deep sand bed or is it just stacked up front from adding it?
  24. I will say that I ran with an alk of around 5dKh for about 2 years with no ill effects seen; corals were all growing and doing good. I did have a few SPS but they grew pretty slow. I have since raised my alk to around 7dKh over a 1-2 week period and have already seen a drastic increase in overall SPS health, no noticeable change in my LPS as of yet. There is no reason IMO to worry about a lower than normal alk level as long as it is stable. Granted you might not see as much growth as quickly but as long as your corals are all happy, I see no reason for concern.
