  1. Find a willing willing deli with a slicer...haha. seriously though, doesn't kinkos have a paper cutter for print jobs you could pay to use
  2. Yes, can't wait to see this setup...when will it be truly wet? Please ultimately summarize lessons learned should someone want to mimic your drop-off plans later. It's a very cool idea
  3. Ditto post above...and also look into your feeding regimen. Is he getting enough to eat of things he likes and needs? A hungry tang means a crabby tang. Your bioload should be even lighter now after losing the other fish, so you should be able to feed more (silver lining).
  4. I was originally annoyed by my ato's sound too. The sound of water falling from near the top of the sump was really making my wife hate my tank. Not to answer the timer question, but my solution to the noise was to put my pump output (aqualifter -> airline tubing) pointed onto the top of my ato sensor mount. The water hits a hard surface and finds it's way down to the water below while adhering to the surface of the sensor mount. I never hear it now...unless my top-off reservoir runs dry and then the aqualifter gurgles loudly to remind me it needs a refill.
  5. Go pico Ryan...with manual maintenance. It will keep you busy and you can be selective and stock less
  6. Lovely, great job! You know how to pack it in there
  7. Very very nice! I wish I could learn to photos like you too...great pics
  8. So I take it you know have an empty tank?
  9. I couldn't see this on my work pc, but could on my phone. WOW! Can a stroll along and take some frags...that looks easy there

  13. Rob, I thought the main problem was the longer polyp goni...blanking on name. I thought the shorter polyp encrusters were more hardy. Nothing is risk free of course, but there is a lfs who is well known for contributions to the hobby regarding gonis. I agree that dirtier lagoon setups are suppose to be better...personally,I'm waiting to see how my two frags do as an experiment. Hope OP has success too.
  14. Have you checked water parameters? What kind of flow and light is it getting? I have a similar one...does ok at the bottom of my tank in 100-150 par down there on the sand. It is semi-sheltered, but gets moderate laminar flow. I've had mine a month or so.
  15. HOLY ___ !!!!!
  16. I'd like to someone convert their pool...saltwater filtration with corals please
  17. Similar to one above....cool photosynthetic gorgs. Pink, light blue, or rainbow/zebra rock anemones
  18. That part, I envy. cheers
  19. i wish i'd have gotten my wife more into the hobby before i got started...would have made all the other negotiations for fish tanks, equipment, space, etc...so much easier.
  20. I've thought about that, but it's a bowfront. the curve makes that kind of thing harder. however, i have a canopy...he must of shot out the back of that..which I could cover with screen. hopefully that's a pattern neither of us will keep seeing yeah, i think he will move on quickly. he hasn't made the connection and has plenty of distractions at 3 or maybe he'll want something different this time, right? like a cuttlefish...god, hope i can steer him to something smart
  21. LOL!!! That is too funny!! Yeah, we talked about it. He was wondering and I told him I had sad news. I reminded him that fish live under water and that this one got confused. He couldn't live out of water, so he was gone now. He is still a bit too young to grasp or probe on died/dead...or I got lucky. We focused on that one is gone...but that we still have one. He then told me he had some sad news too....which was that he lost one of his plastic fish (I don't think he did)...but it was sweet. We'll see how it goes. Maybe I'll take him fish shopping with me again sometime soon.
  22. Good ideas...and thanks for the kindness. I might sneak one in, but he already discovered one was missing. Maybe I just drop some bio-load for a bit....keep an eye out for that next great fish
  23. Sad, I just fed the fish and one of two clowns wasn't out for food. These are the clowns we started the tank with last year and the ones my now 3 yr old boy brought home from MarineScene. I found him on the floor behind the tank....way too late to save. I wonder how long before my boy notices one of his two clowns are gone. And the clowns would often spawn...so a sad sheila too. Bummer!
  24. And...what is the led mix in your D120 layout and what relative intensities are running it on between the channels? Similarly, what t5 bulbs did you have?
  25. Very good advice...but a question. How do you guys handle some of the corals that are harder to remove from a plug? For instance....encrusting monti or other encrusting/mounding corals?? I've opted to take the chance a couple of times...though I prefer unmounted as well.
