  1. I was always a firm believer in refugiums but my aio solana doesn't have a fuge and its growing sps like crazy. I don't even dose or do water changes on this tank so I don't know anymore. If you have the space I say go for it.
  2. Nice tank. Following
  3. I like the scape. I've had good luck with conches eating that brown algae. I might have one you can borrow.
  4. Nice choice on lighting. What bulbs are you going to run?
  5. What kind of tank is this? I love the dimensions.
  6. Just threw my back out shoveling. My car won't drive over 1/4" snow so I'm stuck at home for the time being. I just want to go get some pho.
  7. The lady at the grocery store in front of me was buying 8 gallons of milk and 6 cartons of eggs along with a cart full of crap. Lol!! What do you think is gong to happen? It's snow. It comes every winter here.
  8. Dang dip. Tank looks sick
  9. Oh what, we have a local mod now?? Congrats, Alan.
  10. It's for sale
  11. Thank you. I'm considering getting one of these and the only thing I hate about a rimless is the water level is usually so high that it splashes water everywhere when I'm cleaning the glass.
  12. Stunning tank. Quick ? Did you lower the water level in the display or is that stock?
  13. Not sure but she was selling them to fishermen. I'm guessing some kind of worm/crab/alien.
  14. When I was a little pup I remember seeing a lady on the beach of Brazil doing this with a piece of clam shell. Pretty amazing and slightly frightening.
  15. I hear you man. I've realized how much more I enjoy the hobby with a smaller tank. Maybe I'm just getting old.
  16. Nanos are the new hotness. Nobody likes doing work. Big tanks are a pita lol

  19. If you're concerned, just cut the plug off. This can also reduce chance of other contaminants getting into your system. If you want the plug, I recommend a tooth brush dipped in peroxide mixed with sw. This will have immediate effects on the algae but I'm not convinced it kills it 100%. I've been doing this on all my frags since I can remember and I almost always still get bubble algae /gha growth on the plugs after a few weeks. I know we like well encrusted and healthy frags but now days I'd almost prefer a fresh cut from a colony. Just my O.
  20. I have this skimmer and it is the best skimmer I have ever used. Hands down
  21. Impressive livestock. Dig the scape
  22. That thing looks pretty cool
  23. I don't check no3 or po4 ever so I can't comment on that. However, I do believe that lighting plays a big role in sps coloring. I've been running led, t5, and mh simultaneously in my frag tanks in the last 4+ months. All the corals share the same water so that eliminates water quality out of the equation. I've noticed the same corals color up differently under each light. Some corals look better under certain lighting. Some look like poo.
  24. Sorry to get off topic but is there a specific mag chloride I'm supposed to use from HD? Is it a 1-to-1 mix? The brs stuff is so expensive.
