That's funny because mine started going on me this weekend as well. Currently it is making a real loud nise from the back end. I emailed Reeflow last night as the pump is under warranty and they already replied to me this morning so send them an email.

Stay away from the Pinpoint calcium monitor it is the biggest piece of... I got two or three uses on mine before it would no longer calibrate and would give me an error every time I tried. Biggest waste of money I have bought to date and has been sitting in my garadge for a couple of years useless.

I have two of them and as Coral Hind said the green shows a lot more when they are not fully inflated.

The white cone shaped things are the optics and whether you need to use them depends on: How deep that thank is? How high the fixture is going to be on top of the tank? What kind of corals you will be keeping? Are you going to be keeping SPS's or Clams on the sandbed? Depending on what optic you use you will have less light spread than just the star but the light intencity will be stronger with the optics.

Welcome! You are going to love the hobby as long as you take it slow and do a lot of research first like you are now. Just a heads up, if you decide to get a biocube with the HQI lighting you might have some high water temp issues. Just have a back up plan on what you are going to due in that case.
