You def want to get a handle on the ALK swings especially if you want to go the SPS route. My ALK/CAL levels when I was dosing we’re always different. I never dosed the same amount of each solution. I would probably pick up a BRS doser to dose ALK to keep it steady. I like keeping mine around 8.0-8.2

It’s an acrylic tank that isn’t very heavy. Dimensions are 48x22x22. please let me know if u can help. I can help u load on my end and the buyer will meet u at the meeting to offload it.

I have someone interested in a tank I have for sale but would like to pick it up at the meeting. I will not be at the meeting, hence why I need some help. is anyone available to transport the tank to the meeting for me if a deal is made for the tank. It’s only 48x22x22 so it would fit in a small SUV or pick up. I can provide a few frags for your help. If anyone is avail, please let me know. Not 100% sure it will be needed but would like to have a plan in place if a deal is worked out.

I might have some old da stuff for ya cheap if you need float valves and cords. Might even have an extra PC4 with 3 working outlets. the temp is easy, as the PH. Never used the float valves hence why I have BNIB stuff

Welcome. There are a few LFS in the Manassas area. Capital aquarium and Blue Ribbon Koi. As for cheap frags, there are a lot of members on the forum that regularly sell $5-$10 Frags and some of us even give away frags all the time

I’m just not sure how long the normal pieces of glass are for when they build tanks. I guess in the end the price difference would be minor. Are you planning on going rimless? I had to upgrade to 3/4” glass due to the length/width of my tank. If I wanted a eurobrace I could have gone with 1/2”. But the 3/4” looks so nice. Hahaha if you can though, I would go at least 24” deep if not 30”. It gives you way more options for the aquascape. In addition, how are you planning on doing the overflow? Internal or external?

Off the shelf is either Red Sea or Waterbox for a rimless. But there are tons of manufacturers to order from. I have a 72x30x22 rimless with 3/4” glass from Miracles in glass that was shipped to my house for around $2700. That was the tank only. If your only looking for 18-24” then I would think your talking $2400 or so.

My train on thought on this. 240 gallons of water on the floor along with the loss of all the livestock. Is it worth it? in my opinion, if were talking about a 30 gallon tank then I could take the risk, but 240 gallons. Not in this lifetime. Yea, buying something that doesn’t leak costs more but the cost of it leaking again and the damage 240 gallons could cause would not be something I would want to deal with.

I have a 3/4” miracles and have been running MP40’s with no spacers for years with no issues. If you go tunze you need the upgraded magnets. But if you have MP40’s you will be fine.
