  1. What?? My fish room dungeon?
  2. My suggestion if the wife allows your plans is to do an external overflow with a bean animal overflow. That way the two sides view isn’t affected by corner overflows and you have more real estate in the tank. And do sea swirls for the returns.
  3. These. I have a 55 gallon one but that’s only because I can’t fit the hundred in my fish room. They are just taller, not much wider. https://www.tank-depot.com/productdetails.aspx?part=A-VT0055-20&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2fTv5sTy5gIVy56zCh1QvwY6EAQYByABEgKODPD_BwE
  4. If you can fit it, I would go with two 100 gallon ace roto mold containers. That way you can hold enough water for an emergency if needed
  5. You could just use white vinegar as well
  6. Once it goes in, it doesn’t come out.
  7. If your going to do it there, can u put in a pocket door?
  8. This is how I access the area behind my tank. I have all my equipment back here. It’s an area under the stairs I have turned into my “fish room”. It’s only a 4’ door but opens into an area where I can stand up.
  9. Can u come into the room from a different side? What is to the right of the door? Can you access the fish room from that side if you cut another door.
  10. What about moving the door to the wall to its right and closing off the door? I know that’s not the best idea or the cheapest but will allow you do center the tank properly.
  11. And I would do glass over acrylic. Easier to clean
  12. Personally I wouldn’t do the notch. It’s going to be super hard to clean or plan for flow. I would cut the biggest hole in the wall above the bar and put in the biggest tank you can and just frame the opening. Then go as deep as you can into the fish room.
  13. Do you have a picture of the actual room?
  14. Mainly depends on your budget and if your already running an apex. Geo is a great unit if you have a controller. If you don’t, Dastasco units from Unique corals are amazing.
  15. My tank is 72x30x22 and it’s sitting on a 40” tall stand. Which I think is perfect it also makes the tank taller than it actually is and for you at 6’2” you wouldn’t have to stand on a chair like I do to reach the back. Hahaha.
  16. Years.
  17. With all those powerheads I don’t think you going to have any problem with flow. You might even have too much and the only way to have equal pressure through both returns is to have two return pumps, which I think is overkill. I would just “T” off your return pump to each return and call it a day.
  18. Yea. I’m hoping by this weekend it will start skimming properly. Gonna do another water change as well. It’s unreal. Not going to use the rest of the rock. Gonna stay with dry if I need to add anything and just deal with the lack of color.
  19. So raising it 4+ inches worked. Now I have it 1” and it’s still overflowing. Maybe by next week it will be back to normal. It’s crazy that this is only 3 rocks in a 300 gallon system that’s been running for years. IMG_6326.MOV
  20. Yea. I have mine at the lowest setting inside the skimmer and also raised the skimmer 4”. Doing another water change to see if that helps.
  21. This is crazy. I raised the skimmer almost 4” and it’s still overflowing. Anyone has any idea how long it’s going to take to settle? I have way too many fish to not have a viable skimmer
  22. Did know they could be taken apart and fixed. Hmmmm. Gotta take a look at that
  23. Does anyone else have this issue. Mine starts to leak after a few years. They continue to work but start dripping. I just end up replacing it after it gets too annoying. is this normal? Or do other people just have theirs stop working before they replace it.
  24. Different tanks.
  25. Kool. I just turned my skimmer off. Gonna do a small WC today to see if that helps. Appreciate it.
