  1. hahaha... so funny... I bought that!!
  2. ok so this is their picture: and this is what the coral looks like in tank: What do you guys think? Where did the pink go!!!??? Maybe they were running lower temp bulbs?
  3. I just recieved a package also from them. Same experience except the color is definately not the same. The coral had its polyps out when I opened the bag. It was shipped in a huge box with a huge cooler with 12 bags and a heat pack. The temp in the bag was very close to the temp in my tank. I will post pictures of their pic vs my pic. Can you post the same?
  4. The one above the hawkins is Dr Macs Limeade I got from Rob/Zygote2k
  5. Almost forgot this! This comes in the mail tomorrow!!
  6. Its been three months... here are some new pictures!!! Went a little overboard... enjoy!
  7. Yes this is the frag I got from you Lynn! Thanks Billy, Steve, Jon, Laura and Darren. Chris, if you can't make it to Lynn I can cut you a frag but my colony is still on the small size. Love the lights, this is Giesemann Actinic + and Radiums in a Giesemann Spectra light fixture.
  8. wow maybe thats whats up with my acIII. I only have my t5's plugged in b/c it is acting so messed up since I mounted it close to ballasts... hmmm...
  9. ORA BIRDS OF PARADISE. Although mine is thicker branched and "bushy" from PE. But the colors are exactly the same and I have seen it in other peoples tanks with thin branches and less PE like this.
  10. before. Many of us run the same type of thing without the skimmer. I dont know about the skimmer but CPR fuges are good quality. I would consider a HOB Refugium and a HOB high end skimmer like a deltec... but this is probably would work depending on what you are keeping.
  11. check out this nem video.. "anemone swimming"
  12. well the correct thing to do in that situation is drip acclimate them or slowly acclimating.... by adding small amounts of your water and discarding the water in the coral container until you slowly reach your salinity.. so it isn't a shock.. but you should be fine. Are the polyps out? Why does he run his salinity so high?
  13. Mark, make sure your tank has good magnesium, calcium and alk. I only temperature acclimate my acros, then dip them, then into the tank. I use revive and I closely inspect each piece for any sort of bites/bugs/eggs/etc. I do not drip acclimate them. High lighting, strong indirect flow (powerheads will blow the tissue right off coral if placed in strong direct flow) As Justin said, the biggest concerns when adding acropora are Acropora Eating Flatworms (AEFW) and redbugs. AEFW are the worst bugs so if you see them do what Justin said. Most experienced reefers say quarantine coral because of eggs that may not be killed by dips... but not many people have a QT tank up and running, especially one that can keep sps happy. What corals are you getting?
  14. well I went to BRK this weekend and they had a monster midas blenny. I figured if I was ever gonna try nows the time because the one I got at Fins and Feathers is half that size... they seem to be doing well.. the big midas blenny (new guy) is chasing my anthias though...
  15. I just had my heater in my TECO chiller go out and am running my finnex titanium off my acIII now... I was really happy not relying on my acIII before but that failed me... heaters suck... anyone know of finnex failing?
  16. Ill take a frag of #5 and #6. lol. Looks good!
  17. What do you test and how often? I test monthly. I only test magnesium, calcium and alk.
  18. haha no I hit my coral limit this month already...
  19. it looks much better in person.. I have the same problem.. my pictures are too blue
