  1. Sounds great! Are you using carbon and phosban to take care of the waste materials?
  2. First one kind of looks like a pearlberry.
  3. Sounds like latkas, mmmm, it is Haunakkah.
  4. To see it do we have to look in your tank????
  5. I think my nutrients are out of whack, trying to address it though. Thanks for the input.
  6. You mean like turn from bright blue to green? That happens to me.
  7. From what I have read no, you have to get some kind of other butterly that will eat them.
  8. By the extent of your posts, I thought you were a chemist....
  9. Which one? On Shellhorn?
  10. What colors are you looking for?
  11. I have one that has dark blue polyps with blue body but at the base of the polyps it is bright green.
  12. I have them coming out at night as well. Seems as though they disappear during daylight and they retreat to the sandbed or any other crevice that they can hide in. They must be breeding in the water column.
  13. The only effective way was either to kalk it (may get on something else) or take the rock out and peel that greyish base that it has off the rock (the only sure way).
  14. Not sure but it makes bryopsis go away.
  15. Nah not him.
  16. That is great so when I walk right in I can see all the goodies right in front of me! You should think about putting a TV in the wall above this new frag tank so that you can look at the tank and watch the Caps game at the same time.
  17. I thought I got some at Lowe's before, I think they came in a plastic bag and were not necessarily in the sorted bins where they sell them individually like the stainless steel fasteners.
  18. Was your T5 fixture 4' or 5' long? If it was 5' long then I guess it got better coverage along the entire 5 foot long tank.
  19. I cross my fingers every time I look into my tank.
  20. So my 1/2 inch piece is worth $20.36....
  21. Yes, true. Have to buy alot of them to get the necessary coverage.
  22. I have mine on the bottom too. Mine got covered with a little sand and turned that portion white. I get good polyp extension when conditions are proper in my tank, so you are on the right track!
  23. Sorry if this has been discussed before but I just checked out this guy's blog about collection and aquaculture of corals and thought it was pretty interesting. http://eddie-coral-adventures.blogspot.com/
  24. I also had the actinic+ as the bookends and was not impressed with them and substituted them with the Blue plus and I think they look better.
  25. I have two of them and they really do pop the colors but it seems I may need at least six of them to get the coverage over the whole tank since their beams are so narrow.
