  1. I loved my last foxface when I set up my 180 I got a Magnificent Foxface that I always wanted
  2. Just put a post in the For Sale/WTB/Free section. Just put WTB in the title of the post to let people know you are looking to buy.
  3. Find Nerite snails doing the same thing crawling on the wall and down the outside of the tank. Have rescued a few off the top of the glass center brace on my Oceanic tank before they get cooked by the MH pendant right above it, snails have no sense. Got a real fright awhile back when I was checking over my sump on my before work check and was checking the drain which had a slow leak when a very large hermit crab crawled out from under the sump and scared me to death, where it was was probably 3 feet from the tank, still don't know how it climbed out.
  4. Lowe's usually has better selection of plumbing supplies than Home Depot and at least around Baltimore they do have some SCH80. Not sure if you have Ferguson's plumbing in VA or not but they have some. Not sure if they are still in business but Fischer's Hardware in Springfield might be a place to look but I don't think they had a very large plumbing selection.
  5. I just got 5 tubes of aquamend at home depot up here a couple days ago. Try another home depot
  6. I had a couple of those power heads years ago, no matter if you keep them clean or not the sweep action doesn't work for long. I had better luck with a hydor rotating device that I attached to a maxi jet, it worked pretty good for a couple of years.
  7. The larger the surface area of the tank the better for evaporation and gas exchange. I've had a 75 for years and wished I had more room than the 18" depth. Go with the marineland cube
  8. The cord is permanently installed. I bought mine at Guitar Center for around $30 in their DJ section.
  9. I used to use the ESV calc but lately switched to the Bulk Reef Supply kalk, I like it alot better and it is cheaper, doesn't gum up in the bottom of my stirrer near as bad as the ESV and maintains my PH better
  10. I have a Top Fathom 100A Venturi Protein Skimmer for $75 OBO. It's a older skimmer but a good one, takes a pump the size of a Mag7 to run it, is a larger footprint but works good.
  11. Been there a bunch of times, mainly a koi and freshwater place but they do have some saltwater. Have had pretty good luck with their fish but they never have hardly any corals to speak of. Some prices on drygoods are good, some bad, some horrible. They have a ton of plumbing parts and bulkheads. Nice people.
  12. I'm using a MP40W on one end of my 75 on about 70%, it moves alot of sand and I have a Tunze 6045 on the other end of the tank
  13. Glad that I can be of help. If I ever get out that way I'll take you up on that beer.
  14. I agree, snake oil. I tried it one time and it didn't do anything for my tank either.
  15. I order my T-5's from reefgeek, well packaged and quick shipment, never noticed that shipping was very expensive even when I order 8 bulbs at a time but who knows I'm ordering 48" bulbs so maybe that is right on the upper limit of cheap shipping, the 60" bulbs might push you into the oversize item category.
  16. Followed the instructions that came with it, just plugged a ethernet cable from it into my laptop, inserted the CD that came with it, input my security code for the router, unplugged from my laptop and plugged the ACIII into it and I was in business. Only problem I had was that I had it sitting on the floor and it lost signal a couple of times so I moved it to next to my television and haven't had a problem since.
  17. I just bought this Telnet Wireless N Gaming Adapter, http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0311096 , from Micro Center and plugged my ACIII into it, am having no problems seeing my ACIII on Verizon Fios service. I caught it on sale for $59.99 with a $30 mail in rebate.
  18. If you are near Springfield you might want to try Fischer's Hardware, they always have alot of plumbing parts and the red jacket old men give great customer service.
  19. The Deltec KM500 is very easy to add kalk to, just turn it off, lift the lid up a little bit and spoon the kalk into it. Never had any issues with clogging since I've owned mine, love it.
  20. I have the Deltec 500M on my system, works like a champ with no problems, just keep it cleaned out on a regular basis like any other one. Motor went out over a year ago and had to take it to Richmond to get it fixed, could of mailed it but wanted to get it back working, motor was $90 and only available from Deltec. Made me wish that I had bought a GSA for less money, bet a replacement motor is alot cheaper also. From what I see the stirrer bar is different between the Deltec and the GSA, probably doesn't matter, the GSA may actually do a better job than the round metal stirrer on the Deltec.
  21. Wanna watch Bambi blow a gasket, go in and start discussing kalk and calcium reactors sometime.
  22. How do most people transport 65 or 75g tanks to their houses? In the back of a pickup truck or van.
  23. Geofloors built his sulfur denitrator, there are pictures of it in his tank build thread.
  24. Can you use a Eheim 1262 for a return pump? I think I saw on the That Fish Place website that the 1262 had a maximum head of 15". I currently use a Mag 12 for a return and it does generate some heat but not too much, was thinking about buying a 1262 until I saw the max head.
