  1. I had the same problem when I got my MP10, I contacted their tech support but checked my MP40's and the prop is supposed to be connected to the magnet. I superglued it into place but the tech guy said it wouldn't hold, that's was a year ago Tony
  2. T5 Lighting This is what I'm using over my 20g tank, the 24 inch version. I like it cause it has the moonlights and timer built in. Tony
  3. I'll be there getting rid of stuff and probably buying some stuff. Tony
  4. Welcome, very much a nub here myself. Alot of great help here. Tony
  5. Oh yea I totally forgot those where out there. Good advice thank ya. Tony
  6. Would putting the 8 in a straight line work or should I think of another configuration? What I'm planning to do if I use them is get some sockets and wire them up, instead of using a light fixture. I want to have some control of when they turn on and off, having the more blue turn on for dusk and dawn. I have also though about using t5's to supplement the PAR38's or would this be overkill as well? Thanks Tony
  7. I've been researching my 180g build. I think I found the tank and stand, so now onto lighting. I'd like the use 12 PAR 38s from Nanotuners. The configuration 6 20000k 6 12000k All with the 40 degree optics. The tank dimensions will be 72x24x24. So the question I have: Will the optics work for the 24" depth? Will 12 be enough to cover the whole tank? I'm think 4 in a square configuration with 3 squares. I'm planning on sticking with a mixed reef with softies, LPS and SPS. Thanks Tony
  8. I've been talking to Jeff about getting one of his 180g tanks and was wondering if you had a picture of your setup. Did you get the stand and canopy as well? Tony
  9. Can you buy seperate corner pieces for these kits? I have the overflow and two returns I have to work around. My other idea is to leave pieces of the eggcrate I'm using now in the back section and just measure for the area left open. What would be the best? Tony
  10. I put the new address manually into my GPS and still manage to drive by it everytime I go. Tony
  11. From most of the reading I've done. You can use sand as a mold. Could you just use black sand for that and keep what sticks? Tony
  12. This stuff was stringy nasty looking red goop. All the pictures I've seen of it looked just like cyno.
  13. I've used the aquahub ATO on all my tanks so far. I will have to say the toughest part of the process for me is molding the hangers. Beyond that it's just a bunch of stripping wires. Tony
  14. Not to highjack the thread and all but has anyone ever notice a correlation between cyno and the sand that you use. When I first stood up my 12g Aquapod I used the off the shelf sand that had the added bacteria for "instant cycling" and had a huge outbreak of cyno. I setup my 20g and 75g with "The Package" from TBS and didn't get an outbreak, but the sump for the 75g I used the off the shelf sand again and also had a bad outbreak in the sump only. When I reset up my 12g Aquapod using Marco Rocks sand I didn't have an outbreak. Just seems weird that the two times I use the off the shelf sand I get it but when I use some that isn't "instant cycle" I don't. I know it's a small sample size just struck me as weird. Tony
  15. That would be a no to the DSB. I bought "The Package" from TBS and wasn't up to speed on the DSB for the refugium. I'm trying a DSB in my 20g to see how that works. The Cheato in the refugium didn't grow for the longest time. It has started to grow more recently. I have also started to add some Caulerpa from my 28g that seems to grow much faster. I've started to cut back my feeding as well. I might try a larger water change this weekend. Tony
