  1. hmmm...well there is 2 powerheads at the bottom back of the AIO tank. Yes that is the one i have 28 gallon HQI. I just refer to exit parts of the powerheads as the return as that is where the bubbles seem to be shooting out from. There is a little bit more coming out right now but thats because it needs to be topped off. But even when it's completely full, i still get some bubbles or small artifacts coming out. i will take them out and clean them tomorrow night. Well see what effect that has. thx.
  2. Lol. I have no skimmer on the tank!!
  3. exposure thing. they are the size of tiny bubbles....this makes it look longer but thats just because i cant take a very good pic..lol similiar to this one a few weeks back, but just not as much.
  4. How much should i be feeding my 2 clownfish?? I have a cleaner shrimp and 2 crabs. not sure if they actually eat the flakes or the brine i put in.
  5. Hmmmm...well thanks guys. Right now i have a CPR fuge attached to the back of my 28 gallon and there isnt any more room between that and the wall. Can i put a skimmer in the Fuge like the Tunze nano and it work just as good as in the back of the tank??
  6. So you just took out the powerheads and cleaned them and they were better? how long had they been running? here is a pic of my bubbles that i have, i call them bubbles but i am not sure exactly what they are. I just know under the MH lights they look like do do!!
  7. i will put one on, i just did a huge water change to try to help with the red algae problem. Once the tank clears up i will take a pic. I just filed it up all the way to the top and there are still small particles (air bubbles??) floating around in the top. and yes i do have a HOB fuge. But these bubbles were coming out before i even added the fuge. it appears to be coming from the 2 returns of the powerheads.
  8. Ok i have tried the Oceanic Biocube skimmer and my seaclone 100 and neither seem to be working very well. Can anyone recommend a good quality skimmer for a 28 gallon nano tank?? thx.
  9. The powerheads are 2-4 inches below the top of the water level in each chamber. I dont think its that. I am trying to get rid of my red aglae and not too concerned with the bubbles at this point, however, i am looking at them right now in the tank and i just topped off the tank so it is not the water level.
  10. Can you tell me if this is Red Algae, it appears to be but not sure. if it is, how is it best treated? Is it expected in a new tank? My photo period is 8 hours MH and 2 pre and post hours actinics.
  11. Hey Reefs, Sorry i am about useless any help with this since i am just starting out too, but just wanted to say welcome!!!!
  12. And thanks Int. Theres not much invovled with the dynamics of the powerheads as far as i am getting quite a few air bubbles from both powerheads on both sides, so i guess i will just take them both apart and clean them to at least eliminate them from the equation. The air bubbles are coming from them, but i suspect they it might be from too much aeration prior to entering the powerheads?? I was hoping it would just work its way out in a week or so, but nada! time to start the investigating process....
  13. Hey brandon, i sure do have some pics. They are in my gallery and in photobucket. I am not sure how or if you can get to my gallery. I will post something to find out. I tried to pull up yours to see if you had pics in there but i didnt see anything. have you uploaded any yet to your gallery? By the way i picked up about 4-5 really nice frags at the meeting. Its really cool to meet alot of these folks.
  14. One more for the team! : ) Looks nice! Good luck!
  15. I am probably going to get a nasty gram from tom over this but im going to chime in on brandon's message. First of all he if you really think telling someone that is just starting the hobby to expect to know everything some of the members have "learned" over the last 1000 years, then you might need to look take a look at yourself first, not to mention hes only like 15 years old. You want to pick on someone older send me a PM, i might address it a bit different. there are alot of folks on here with really good ideas and opinions and i can not thank them enough, however some tend to shoot then possibly ask questions later. I realize you have been doing this for quite some time but you really need to be a bit more tactful when you formulate your opinions. For those who have a tendency of getting lost on these forums, read the sub-forum heading NEW TO THE HOBBY!!!!!!!! if you have nothing nice to say....fill in the blank
