  1. They should be able to pick up an impeller for 30.00 or so depending on the model. Just a thought.
  2. Have you checked the impeller? They seem to damage easily if something comes in contact with them. You could try easing the water level an inch. I personally have never owned one, but have just tinkered with a few.
  3. After looking around, 7-9" seems to be the norm. Measure the height and you can figure out the model.
  4. What test kits are you using and how old are they? What about mag levels?
  5. I have been running the pellets for a year now. When I initially put them in my reactor I did the 24 hour soak in ro water. Every time I top them off I do the same. I never had any type of bloom. I did only start with a 1/3 of the recommend amount. I added another 1/3 every 10 days. Just my thoughts
  6. Did you mix both parts together? You could already have high calcium in your ro di water.
  7. I'm sure with the new setup things got stirred up some. Give it some time and it should drop. I run vertex bio pellets and my nitrates are 0. There are some articles that say you should have some small amounts of nitrates for sps. I have seen no adverse effects from keeping them low and have great colors and growth.
  8. Does he have enough to eat. Might want to give him some nori attached to a rock.
  9. I would check your tank parameters, but you should replace your bulbs. I usually have seen wild millis turn green after adding them to my tank but they eventually morph into some other color.
  10. I also have the lumenbright minis but on a 120 and they are 15" above the water. There was a thread on R2R that compared different reflectors(lumenarcs and lumenbrights). The lumenbright minis had the best par numbers. The nice thing is with this reflector is I do not have any heat transfer to my tank. And they are only 16"x16". Which should leave room for any supplement lighting.
  11. I second what epleeds said. I think that would be what you are looking for.
  12. Interesting idea. Let us know how it goes.
  13. Try and get a hold of him. I'm sure his prices are better.
  14. Side placement should be good. In that size tank you won't need to run it at full speed. I personally like reef crest mode. It should actually create a nice undertow that should eliminate any need for more powerheads.
  15. I don't think it would stay on with tape. You could cut egg crate to fit and paint it black to match the trim.
  16. Which ones are you looking for? I have 2 of the large and 1 of the small rocks if your interested. As far as the frag mags, bulk reef supply carries another brand which I like better. The frag disk sits flush against the glass. The frag mag ones do not rest flush with the glass. Their magnet capsule protrudes from the back, not allowing the coral to encrust. Just my thoughts.
  17. I agree though expensive, I personally would do the vortech myself. Pros: Small footprint No heat transfer No chance of stray current Adjustable flow patterns and rates Cons: Price I would try to find one used if you can.
  18. I use to have one of these lights a while back. The one I had made the same noise. When I would tap the fan the noise would go away(bad bearing). I was going to replace the fan but sold it before that happened. On another point. Make sure you have a piece if glass between you tank and that light. For some reason coralife figured you would have one already. If not you will burn your corals since de bulbs have no uv shielding.
  19. I read somewhere that there are some nudis that eat sponges. But fish, angels and butterflies. I don't think dwarf angels eat them though.
  20. I would think they are acclimating to your tank then. Just monitor them as the week goes on. I would think they should be fine. Keep us updated.
  21. It could be waste. It could also be the anemone expelling zooanthelle(sp). Which could be from stress or an increase in lighting. I am by no means an anemone expert though.
  22. I would personally consider a controller or an automated dosing pump. I feel for dosing 2 part, that would be the safest route. You just want to make sure you have a safe and reliable setup for this. Any mistakes or inaccurate dosing could wipe out your tank. Sent from my DROIDX
  23. You can use however much you have. I think that model holds about 4 lbs of the fine arm media. It will make your life easier if you get a ph controller if you don't have one already. I have the same model and love it, just wish it had a probe port in the lid. Sent from my DROIDX
