I built 1 24x3w led strip for my 120 and just ordered some more for my other tank. They are insane when on by themselves. You are welcome to come by my house and check out the Led's if you want. I am just north of frederick, if you want too. Everyone who has seen it is blown away by the colors. They are not really that hard to put together to be honest.

It might be a teddy bear crab, but I thought they had hair on their backs also. If you did not add it to your system,I would get rid of it to be safe. I just had to get rid of 2 mithrax crabs that were picking on my sps. I actually caught a large one snapping of tips of my Ora Boreallis.

It is always hard to tell from pictures, but could you describe where the blue and green are. Or is it just a shade of blue/green. I do not know either way what it is, but it looks like an eye catcher due to the light coloring. Looks good.

The dimable might not be a horrible idea in a shallow tank. I have the 24 royal blues on my 120 and it is as bright as about 4 ati blue plus(48") in a powermodule. These things are intense, and I do not use optics. I tried to start a group buy on another forum and was not able to reach the minimum. I would be down for another 24 retro and a 12 retro if you do order. I am hoping to order in the next two weeks, so let me know.

I would guess shipping will be quite a bit more. For me to ship a small 7x7x6 box weighing 5lbs to Cali was 76.00 for overnight priority. I just did a quick estimate on fedex.com and it was about 220.00 to ship to L.A. from Frederick, Md

Check your local fish store. They should have some large boxes from their shipments. I would also see if anyone local ships fish, that could help you out or give tips. I agree with the large bags with quite a bit of water. I would also would not feed the day before shipping(less waste produced.)

If he seems ok otherwise, I would just try and fortify his food for now. I would try seaweed soaked in vitamin c and garlic. I would just monitor and see if it seems to progress. Hopefully someone else who has had a similar experience will chime in. Good luck and keep us informed of any updates

Either way would be just fine, it boils down to preference. As stated earlier you could get away with doing a single pendent with a really good reflector, 250 should be just fine at that depth. Or you could even look into the new Tek elite series for that price. Either way you go, you could always add led supplements later. I started with 2x250w halides and 4x54w T5 fixture, and was not happy with the engery usage. I then upgraded to an 8x54w powermodule and love the ability to change the look by just switching some bulbs around. I just recently added a DIY led supplement of 24 x 3w leds and it is mind blowing. Even with my powermodule fully powered up I can still see the leds. So I personally would recommend leds for supplement. I would say either way you go is fine, but I would recomment adding leds for supplement. Good luck
