Hatchling

Hatchling (3/13)

  1. Some SPS and LPS. They are doing fine. Zoas not doing too well.
  2. T5s bought in Nov. 4 x 39W. PO4 - .024 PPM. RODI water (0 tds). 45 gal tank, about 10 gal in sump, 3 gal water change per week. Nitrate 0.
  3. Ok. I just can't get ahead of this and I'm almost ready to throw in the towel. Picture shows the problem. We scrubbed the rocks on Sunday. I test for alk, calcium, and magnesium. All within parameters. New T5 bulbs, on for 7 hrs a day. Running GFO for about a month. Running UV. Have a refugium with lots of chaeto. Use quality food to feed two ocellaris clowns sparingly. Dose with B-Ionic daily. What am i missing? I see so many tanks without a single bit of algae on the rocks. Thanks.
  4. I have a refugium section in my sump. It seems to get a fair amount of detritus build up. Should I be vacuuming it regularly? Thanks.
  5. Trying to figure out how to detach a few RBTAs so I can post for sale. Any key methods? Thanks.
  6. Thanks. I don't see that light at Lowes online. I'll keep looking.
  7. I have a JBJ Macro Glo adjustable refugium light (15w). I'm having trouble with the bulbs burning out too quickly. Almost one a month. Not sure if the salt spray is part of the problem. It's past warranty and I'm looking for suggestions on what may be a suitable replacement. The refugium is a section of my sump, about 9"L x 10.5W. Chaeto has been growing fine. Thanks, Frank
  8. I'll go with this "two blue plus, one aqua blue special and one fiji purple". Thanks!
  9. The bulbs are only 4 months old. I did shift the actinics to the front and it helped a little but still wanted to get some suggestions. Thanks.
  10. I have four 39w T5 bulbs for the 45 gal tank. They are a 6000k midday sun, 11000k aqua blue plus, and two pure actinic 03. All are giesemann bulbs. I am not able to split them so all are either on or off. Got some great Frags last meeting that are doing well, but the colors are not popping as much as I would like. Do you have any recommendations for bulb changes that could give me more color but still be good for coral growth? Thanks, Frank
  11. Anyone know what the strand of billowing stuff is? thanks, Frank
  12. Any recommended material to place under the submerged return pump to absorb a little of the vibration for quieting purposes? Its not bad, just trying to minimize. Thanks, Frank
