  1. When I was pricing tanks a few weeks back, they were one of the companies I contacted. They were super responsive and had great pricing. When you start to look at some reviews, I felt it sounded like if there would have been issues after the sale, I would have been in for an uphill battle. I spent a little more and went with Miracles, 36x36x18 starphire rimless. The extra money spent(not too much) is well worth the peace of mind.
  2. I had a similar combo on my biocube and it was good. I added a few neutral whites in place of a few cool whites. You can always swap LEDs out to suit your needs. Project Phoenix in progress
  3. Ricordea? Really nice, this can give some of us some goals. Project Phoenix in progress
  4. I believe another Wamas member has done this and even sold some on here. I have had some grow together in my frag tank before. Project Phoenix in progress
  5. I have a friend who purchased them and had someone build him a fixture. I have heard mixed reviews on build quality and output quality. I believe they have their place in the hobby, depending on your application. Personally having used Crees, I don't know of I would use them. But there are people who have used them with great success. Just do a google search on reviews of them and you could get a better spread of reviews. Project Phoenix in progress
  6. I'm surprised there wasn't anything else appearing stressed. I had 21v and my fish showed signs of stress, and I got shocked. I think it could have added to the problem, or at least stressed the fish some. Project Phoenix in progress
  7. I had 6+ wrasse in my 120 and still had tons of them. I had some that could have made a meal. Well over an inch long. I never saw any of the wrasse even bother them. I would never get another 6 line anyway. Such a PIA. Project Phoenix in progress
  8. Thanks for the heads up Project Phoenix in progress
  9. I might go with the 1" magnets. I used them on my 120. The front panel was 1/4" 48x35 and had one magnet epoxied to each corner and was on there very well, no chance of falling off.
  10. Sorry to hear that. How about some tank specifics and water parameters. To me it sounds like excess organics, are you running a skimmer?
  11. I think there are a few things to consider. You have only had those bulbs on there for 3 weeks, it's going to take longer for corals to acclimate. Secondly the tank is only 3 months old, it will take more time than that for the tank to stabilize. I would give it some more time, good things do not happen quickly. I would think with the radiums and vho's, you tank would have crazy color if everything is acclimated and happy. What reflectors did you end up with, what wattage and what ballast. I ran 400w radiums for 1 1/2 years and could not have been happier. Now when my led tank was on and the radiums were off, there was some extra pop to the corals. I never considered even adding supplements to the radiums, I think they're that good.
  12. I believe the Vega is just going to incorporate the XMLs. The blues and ratios will remain the same.
  13. For those of you who are not aware. I had a tank crash about 3 weeks ago. I had added kent marine reef carbon to my reactor and within 3 hours all of my sps in my 120g and my 25 gallon frag tank we dead. Today while doing some more research I came across this. http://www.kentmarine.com/news/news-archive/kent-marine-reef.htm If you are using kent carbon discontinue use until you verify you do not have the listed bad batches. During the mining process the carbon was contaminated with copper and other metals.
  14. That little white bushing that is in the base of the wet side might be not aligned properly or putting pressure on the shaft of the impeller.
  15. I got lucky with mine. Randomly he will eat pellets, but tears up cyclopeze and frozen brine. I know people have trained them to eat pellets. I have never tried and trained any, I am sure there has to be someone on Wamas who has. If not, try and google it.
