Besides the upgrade I can't think of anything. Beside maybe the footprint of the 10 versus the 20/40 (which are the same wet side units). I haven't seen a comparison so I couldn't say for sure. And maybe that if the 10 by some chance isn't enough flow and you're not happy with it you'll have to buy whole new pump and control unit. But I guess that falls under being upgradeable. The 20 will in no way be too much for your tank. Theres an adjustment knob on the control box that will let you vary the flow to suit your exact needs.

I'm using a MP20 on my 40 breeder. It replaced 2 koralia #1's and 2 koralia #2's. Honestly I feel like it's more than enough for my tank. I'm very pleased with it so far. I'd skip the MP10. The MP20 is easily upgradeable to the MP40 for around $100 if you decide to use it on a bigger tank versus not being able to upgrade the MP10 currently.

Which server do you play on Bob? I'm on Elendilmir.

HUNTERS BREAKDOWN SALE - CORALS FOR SALE
Stephen replied to reefhunter's topic in General Discussion
If the buy out doesn't happen I'd be interested in the gadgets acro. -
I think a chat room is a nice idea.

Depending on how much SPS and how often you do water changes you could be meeting the needs through the water changes. I don't use auto top offs but I have used kalk in my make up water for top offs before I switched to 2-part. Have you been testing your ph, cal, and alk levels? In a tank that size I think I'd make sure it's needed before I added it. Also with the top off be careful your container holding the top off water isn't too big. If something happened and the top off pump got stuck on it wouldn't take long before it could pump too much freshwater into a tank that size.

When I kept discus I fed black worms pretty exclusively. It never occurred to me to try them on marine fish. I'll have to pick some up and see what the fish think.

I read that also. One of the reasons I will more than likely leave it in reef crest or lagoon mode. Of course I'll try out the wave mode just to see it once. lol Thanks Bob!

Well I'm not you, so I spent $30 more... If 30 bucks was an issue I wouldn't be buying one of these. Thanks but from what I've read and recommendations so far I believe it's going on the side. Thanks Nate and Zoozilla!

I just ordered a MP20 after fighting over it in my head for the last couple of days. I am using 2 koralia #1's and 2 #2's for water movement currently and although I really like the pumps and have been very happy with them I do not like how much room they all take up nor the cluttered look it gives. I'm hoping the MP20 will replace them and still give me enough random flow. Upgrading to the MP40 driver is an option if that's not the case however. I have a few questions though I'm hoping someone using one could help me with. 1. Placement... My tank has about 60 pounds of live rock in it. It's open along the whole front and in one area in the back corner for the filter intake. One side has the rocked stacked higher than the other also. I'm planning to place the MP20 on the side panel where the rock is stacked higher. In the middle of the panel 4-5 inches from the top. Good place? Or is there a better place? 2. Mode... Which mode do you guys use? From what I've read lots of people use the reef crest mode. Also my tank has a hang-on overflow on one side (back left corner). Is anyone using the pulse mode to get the waves with a hang on overflow? Is it creating any problems with air not being cleared from the u-tube? 3. Does the hype of these things live up to all the reviews I've read? Am I going to be blown away or disappointed? Did I waste $280 bucks (lol)?

Good start. What are your plans for it eventually? I'm sure Lynn and I can stock you up when you're ready for corals.

It's like it says in the description. The frags aren't as nice as the mother colony picture. The frag is tan at the moment and the top 1/3 of it is very similar to the mother colony. When I got it the whole thing was tan with purple/blue tips at the top. The white and the pink has started to show so I'm hoping it doesn't take long. According to Vivid and those I've spoken to that have frags it takes a few weeks or more to develop the colors. Fragging browns them out for some reason. I'm taking progression pics just to kind of document it. Their Valida is without a doubt the most intense purple in a coral I've ever seen.

Vivid Valida, Vivid Rainbow Delight, Candle Light, and some zoa's. Planning on making an insane order of zoa's/paly's from them in the next month or two.

Another thumbs up for these guys also. Customer service was great and the frags and fish I received were nice, healthy, and well shipped. Vivid Aquariums

I'm usually a bit gun shy when it comes to ordering something living online that's not WYSIWYG but I have to give a thumbs up to these guys. They have outstanding customer service and the 2 corals I ordered were nice big frags and very healthy. Shipping was fast and well done. Unique Corals

You better have a lot of burgers, dogs, and salt ready! lol Oh... And Sam Adams and Dos Equis for us little ones.

It was. Beautiful fish. Makes me wish I had 900 bucks sitting around I couldn't think of a better use for.

These are by far the BEST frag racks I've ever seen or owned. If you haven't seen them check them out. No ugly egg crate with these. They actually look nice in the tank. Shipping took a few days longer than I'm used to but after getting it I totally forgot about the wait. Blackrock Reef I also spoke with him about a group buy and he offers 15-20% off depending on how many you buy. If anyone is interested I'll set something up. I have the large and small rack but I'd be in for owning a medium size rack also.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

I found this store while browsing last night. Greenwich Aquaria Maybe in the wrong section so mods please move if that's the case...

I'll second the octopus. I use the recirculating model and it's never pulled anything except dark smelly gunk!

I've had one of these for a few years now. I got it when it was tiny from a local shop that had no clue what it was. I'll admit I didn't know what it was for the longest time. That link tells you where the originate. They'll eat just about anything. Mine has eaten pellets, flake, Rod's Food, cut up shrimp, fish, scallop, and clam. It seems pretty open to just about anything. For the longest time mine stayed on the sand bed. That is until it got tired of being buried by the pistol shrimp and moved to the rocks. It still has its foot anchored in the sand but is stretching up through a crack in the rock for light. Never had any of my clowns host in it but the sexy shrimp will stop in it for a few minutes. Overall it's been a easy to care for anemone that's been a pretty good citizen in my tanks through the upgrades.

How many of you guys (and gals) use a refractometer?
Stephen replied to miniflea's topic in General Discussion
I use a refractometer. -
I was thinking the same. I'm also curious to know what SPS you're growing in there.
