  1. Lynn, Just wow! Its really coming along! Cant wait till its finished!
  2. Shows how important redundancy is. Live and learn. Always good to have two independent trains of equipment so if you lost one the other would be able to keep the tank alive. Good luck with the rebuild.
  3. New bulkheads that are threaded and just cap them.
  4. Looks better in person people.... Worth the trip :-P Looks great Lynn and thanks for the help today.

    My 20L

The light holder is made up of two pieces of 1/2"x 1/2" square tube steel that I bent and welded together. I'll hide a few things under the stand as build a curtain to make it look clean. couple pictures of the start 30LBS sand 27LBS Live rock The stand Started adding rock FTS First colorful thing to look at Side shot
  9. Well I started my tank on 10/30/08 its a 20 Long with two AC500 and two Koralia 1's. Clean up crew is currently 3 astrea snails, 4 nassarius snails, 8 blue leg hermits and a peppermint shrimp. I turned one of the AC500's into a fuge on reverse light cycle and do water changes of 3 gallons once a week with walmart distilled water and IO. Tank params are SG 1.025, PH 8.2, Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, all 0 and I don't have many corals yet so I don't even have tests for alk and calcium. I'm starting to have problems with what seems like diatoms and I already reduced my light cycles from 12 hours to 8 and replace my filter media every other day now after I blow off all the rocks and clean everything. So I'm looking for ideas to help clean this tank up.. -Should I increase my clean up crew? what and how many -I want to start running carbon. What brand should I use? -Cut back my light cycle more?
  10. 2) for the leak. just make sure everything is dry put some more glue over it and give it time to set up. It should wick up in enough to stop the leak. needs at least 20-30 minutes to cure. when you assemble these fitting remember glue both sides, and as you put them together twist them slow and maybe ~ 1/2 a turn clockwise and then back.. helps make sure the glue is everywhere and you wont have this problem.
  11. New here and just looking for locals. My name is Richard and I live in Orange county but can usually be found in Fredericksburg. I just started my first Saltwater tank today in a 20L and glad i found this place.
  12. Amazing tank!!! I would love to have something like that one day. Also glad to find people with such nice tanks and experience local, as I live in Orange county and frequent Fredericksburg and I just started a nano tank today.
