  1. I'm using the 36 inch version over my 40 breeder. It's just about all SPS minus a few softies and LPS here and there. I've got nothing but good things to say about the light! Bulb Combo (front to back) ATI Blue Plus UVL 75/25 14,000K Aquablue GE 6,500K Daylight ATI 12,000K Aquablue Special UVL Super Actinic ATI Blue Plus

  3. A big thumbs up for the guys at Reef Geek. Not only were their suggestions on bulbs exactly what I wanted the packaging was superb!
  4. Tank Food Recipes
  5. There's a thread somewhere here with a few recipes. I found it by searching for "food". Rod's food is pretty darn good stuff for sure if you want to save yourself a mess. An ingredient list for each of his foods is listed on his website also. I'd like to try making a batch up with the same ingredients he uses in his just to see if it'd be worth it to make my own versus the 20 bucks for a pack of his.
  6. That guy on bizarre foods on the travel channel was eating them at least a foot long (if not 16-18") in a episode I caught last week sometime.
  7. I sanded the outside half of one 1 inch union. I placed this in one of the elbows that came with the skimmer. Then placed a normal 1 inch pipe into the union and ran that to the sump. I glued the 1 inch union into the metric elbow.
  8. I have the same skimmer. I couldn't find a PVC size to fit it anywhere when I installed it. What I did was get a 1 inch union and sand one side of it down using a sheet of fine grit sand paper. I basically wrapped the sand paper around the union and kept spinning it until it would fit inside the elbow that came with the skimmer. Then glued it in place and ran a 1 inch pipe out of it. It didn't take much sanding to make it fit.
  9. Yes you should. One of those going through your return pump could = lots of little ones in your display. I haven't had them in a pretty long time. Knock on wood... But the few times I did I treated them by injecting kalk paste. I've seen peppermint shrimp eat the smaller ones.
  10. I got it from BRK. I think when Ozzy got it he said it was the last one. It's called "Picture window fish breeder". I'm guessing John will order more... It's a pretty cool little thing. The grated sections are made out of one piece of material that fold into each other and snaps together. The viewing panel then snaps onto that. They had a few in some of their tanks and I thought it was a perfect little home until they grow up a bit.
  11. From what I've read up to a year or more.
  12. A REALLY BIG THANKS then.
  13. I couldn't decide if I wanted a pair of picasso's or snowcasso's... Until I saw the Onyx Clowns John at BRK posted. So for the first time in a long long time I got up at 8 am on a Sunday morning and was there before he even arrived. Thanks to whoever passed on them for the picasso's. I was kicking myself for not getting a pair when he first posted them. Even picked up the smallest sebae anemone I've ever seen in hopes of them calling it home. Couldn't find the cord to my camera so phone pics will have to do for now.
  14. Thanks! Did you pass on them for the picasso's?
  15. Can I say SOLD OUT?
  16. I have a "purple sea plume" I got from Sea Life Inc last year as a "nano frag". It's about 5 times as big as it was when it arrived. Haven't done anything to it except glue it to a rock.
  17. I first saw it in the Richmond Reef Club forum on Reef Central. I've used it twice since it was first posted. Not sure what the expiration date is on it but I think I remember it saying it expires April 9th. I plan on using it again before it expires just to get more at that price.
  18. I used this code to get 4 buckets of Reef Crystals from Fosters and Smith last week. Reef Crystals AGN-16882 $31.99 It came out to like $35.50 per bucket including shipping.
  19. I've used dry rock with live rock from my own tanks in the last few tanks that I've set up. Usually a 95% dry and 5% live rock ratio. I'll replace the live rock I took out of one tank with dry rock. It gives me the peace of mind about introducing hitchhikers or things I don't want. If you have the patience dry rock with a small amount of really nice live rock (hard to find ime) is the way to go.
  20. Welcome back and welcome to WAMAS!
  21. Welcome to WAMAS!!!
  22. I use one to test my RO and RO/DI water once a week. Or everytime I make new.
  23. Lots of fish species do that before spawning. It's their spawning "bed". Maybe some baby tomato's are in your future.
  24. Bummer.... I may have to see if I can find it later. I noticed you had a tank thread on nano-reef.com I've been following. Don't post much there though after watching it become such a rampant troll playground.
