Could you use pvc piping with a magnet glued to it? The other magnet would go on the outside of the tank. So if you had a 2 1/2" connector, the mangroves sit inside(or going through) it with the magnet securing it upright.

If one does go to Congressional, find a senior staff there like Chris or one that has been there for years. We have bought fish there. We do our homework and choose stock or equipment carefully there or any store. They have helped me with lights. One had an manufacturing issue. They ordered another one and when it was in, they called, I came in, and it was replaced. With dead fish, I see that issue in other stores too. With LLE, IMHO there are a number of factors involved such as the food pickiness of that fish, any food competition, the health of it to name a few other factors beside the store. We all want good husbandry practiced. If nothing else stop in and go compare with other stores. Perhaps one time WAMAS folk could do a day long aquarium shop hop!

Have you thought sharing the tank with someone else while racing season is on rather than tearing it apart? Put some in your tank then find another person who can continue what you did. Then when racing season is over, it is yours again. Just a thought.

I can bring tiny snails to the meeting if the tank is ready for them. I can also offer fish when you are ready. LMK.

I have liked & used the green scrubbing pads and a new tile grout brush on my rocks with straight vinegar and lots of water after! Then soaked in fresh water, then salt for a day or two. A lot of work but did it 20 minutes a time. Good luck!

Hmm...any suggestions for where to get parts? I think it maybe useful to feed my scooter blenny(mandarin). And while I am thinking about it what kind of screening is on the feeder? How does the hatching box work? Why the middle tube? Why the outside tube? Can the hatching box and feeder be connected?

A QT can be as simple as a container like a bucket, heater and HOB filter. Do you have a plastic storage bin or a water cooler type container or a new trash bin/can? All those can work for a container. Add a heater and a filter. It works well because you can do water changes easily or drop the salinity if needed or catch the fish easily or to medicate. No need for sand or decor. Keep it simple. HTH.

It is a scooter blenny. It has been eating well and did not show any signs of distress or disease from day 1 and it was doing great at the store before buying it. It's been in QT for 3 weeks with no issues. It Loves to eat marine cuisine frozen and is interested in the pellets. I think I will watch it for another couple days and then transfer it to my 55.
