YHSublime April 24, 2014 Author April 24, 2014 So how many different zoa do you have now? Ya know, I have NO idea. I should go through and make a list. I still have to pull those pink and golds out of my "zoa garden."
pizzaguy April 24, 2014 April 24, 2014 Awesome pics. Tank looks awesome. So, honest opinion. Radions versus your old it.
YHSublime April 24, 2014 Author April 24, 2014 Awesome pics. Tank looks awesome. So, honest opinion. Radions versus your old it. Thank you, sir. I'll give you an honest review so far. Keep in mind my review may be biased, because I need another Radion to really bring it home. Although I could have set and forget my Evergrows, Radions are really easy to program, and get a set light schedule. I'm still acclimating, so it's probably hard to give a full review with that as well. The Radions don't cover as much as my IT's did. They covered the tank, and they did it well. The Radions still provide awesome coverage, and probably better par, but like I said, I could use one more, there are significantly shaded areas on the sides. For the price, I would recommend to everybody that they go with the IT's. That is purely based off price and performance. Essentially you could do for $800 what the radions can do for $2100+ (based on the assumption that I need 3, and could really do with 4 if I wanted to be SET.) Keep in mind the mounting kits, the rails, and everything else with the Radions added an extra almost $200 value, so at the end of the day, if I wanted to do 4 radions and mounted with their kits, I would be looking at about $3600 (yuuup, IT's did it for $800.) If you've got the cash burning a hole in your pocket, then Radions, all the way. If you want an awesome light, and awesome coverage, at a realistically affordable price, then IT's are your jam. Do you want ultimate control, and want to be able to make your lights change an adjust from your phone or computer? Then Radions are your jam. Are you happy with basic light steps and obvious transitions on it's own controller, then IT's are your jam. At the end of the day, Rob says it best: "It's light, it grows things."
Jason Rhoads April 24, 2014 April 24, 2014 Thanks gents. It's a labor of love. Think I have room for some clams though, right?! Lol, do the rest of you see that he used the word SOME? You are out of control! Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
howaboutme April 24, 2014 April 24, 2014 Looks good! Is that a strawberry shortcake in the 2nd photo in post 1238?
PK3 April 24, 2014 April 24, 2014 Your tank looks amazing, Isaac. I can't wait to see all the corals really fill in. Looks good! Is that a strawberry shortcake in the 2nd photo in post 1238? That is just an absurd number of posts in one thread. Is the thread going to have to be split soon for performance purposes, like they do on RC? Haha.
YHSublime April 24, 2014 Author April 24, 2014 Looks good! Is that a strawberry shortcake in the 2nd photo in post 1238? Thanks! Yes it is, it was a nub on a frag when Jason gave it to me, now it's time for me to give him a frag back! Your tank looks amazing, Isaac. I can't wait to see all the corals really fill in. That is just an absurd number of posts in one thread. Is the thread going to have to be split soon for performance purposes, like they do on RC? Haha. We are eagerly awaiting the same thing! I've not tested in a few days, I need to, the corals all look good though, only dosing a small amount. It's been a great diary for me to look back, it's awesome to see so much visual progression in such a short amount of time. Acros do grow fast, you just don't see it because you stare at your tank everyday longer than anybody else does!
howaboutme April 25, 2014 April 25, 2014 Thanks! Yes it is, it was a nub on a frag when Jason gave it to me, now it's time for me to give him a frag back! How much time is that growth I see in the picture from the initial frag? The encrustation over the frag disk is pretty cool looking.
YHSublime April 25, 2014 Author April 25, 2014 How much time is that growth I see in the picture from the initial frag? The encrustation over the frag disk is pretty cool looking. I want to say 3 months? I would have to go back and check the dates.
YHSublime April 27, 2014 Author April 27, 2014 Hopefully that will cure my pink and gold paly issue. I have a feeling they will pop up somewhere again. Arg.

icsparks May 5, 2014 May 5, 2014 You have quite a unique collection going, once it grows out your tank will be one that people will be placing on their computer desktops with envy.
YHSublime May 5, 2014 Author May 5, 2014 You have quite a unique collection going, once it grows out your tank will be one that people will be placing on their computer desktops with envy. Thanks for the kind words! Let's hope it's true!
YHSublime May 5, 2014 Author May 5, 2014 Few updates: Since dosing, I'm now at 144 (8.2dkh) alkalinity and 430 calc, dosing 23ml of each every day. I've not tested much, but I've been watching to see, and I figured it was low enough of a dosage that there wasn't much to worry about. I've noticed my birdsnest frags have taken off, and there looks to be great growth with everything else since then, not that there was an issue before hand. I'm waiting to see if anything pops up (and by anything I mean pink and golds) in my zoa garden, before I start to add things back again and around the tank. I picked up this wicked clam through ERC after Richard went and hand picked, really excited about having another clam back in the tank, he had some beauties out there, worth a look! In recent news, I added the purple tang that I unexpectedly won in an auction. It came with some pretty nice HLLE scars, but I'm content knowing that it will heal up in my tank. Stupid me though, didn't do my due diligence and research, and I already have a yellow tang. They've had it out pretty serious, but it's slowly dying down. I'm confident the purple will come out the boss of the tank, although they are both about the same size. I researched a lot after the fact, and some people have made it work, some have not. The fact that one has not killed the other yet means they will probably work it out: I also added 3 of the stocky anthias that jcuervo was selling. They are a really nice addition to my tank. They are just bit enough that they fit in nicely, and colorful and active enough that they add a lot of really nice movement to the tank. They are a trio, one male, and two females, vicious eaters! Waiting to put the zoas back down, some of them... just some quick shots: I'm also debating getting rid of my monti rock, with the red scrolling, the torch, incredibly large LTA, and the montis on the top. I think it would really open up for a structure that could hold more corals. I'm back and forth on it, as underneath provides a great cave for the fish, and the top adds so much motion with the LPS that I'm holding onto, thoughts?
kkozak81 May 5, 2014 May 5, 2014 What range of alk and calc are you ultimately going for? Very nice clam! I agree that getting rid of the monti rock would free a whole lot of space but...that torch itself would be reason enough for me to keep it.
JR-Tanked150 May 6, 2014 May 6, 2014 Everything is looking really good. I don't know if I would get rid of the torch and lta, I like the swaying motion in a tank. That's a beautiful clam.
surf&turf May 6, 2014 May 6, 2014 Looking good! Why do you have the corals piled against the front glass?

Just taking it real slow. Reaaaaal slow. Everything is looking really good. I don't know if I would get rid of the torch and lta, I like the swaying motion in a tank. That's a beautiful clam. I like the motion as well, I think it's a nice dynamic. The clam is hot, there are a few more Looking good! Why do you have the corals piled against the front glass? The mp pushes them up. Or my wrasse does. Plus sandbed is all that is left! That's why I was thinking about getting rid of the monti rock! Wow insane growth looking good Thanks man! If you're ever down this way come check it out! Grab some frags!
