My constructive comment is.... I would move the rocks a little closer and add some either some nice flat pieces to make some "shelves or ledges" or use some nice branch rock and do the same thing. Kind of tieing it all together. I would add at the bottom of the back, mid or high on the back and one more in the middle of it all.. I think it will give you some areas to move (not add) some of your frags to allow some growout space, add more places for fish to hide and give the aquascape a little more flare.. Just my couple cents..

I have no comment on the sand as its nothing ive ever encountered. But im not sure you really need both pumps at 100%.

The more the SPS fill in, the more flow they will require, that's why. I am going to move the rocks in a little tonight and see how it looks.

Set up a nano! They need tons on tinkering, and you can fill it with soft corals for a stress-free tank.

there you go...i have a pefect one for sale too.....

he would tell you to leave your hands out of the tank and let the coral grow....

yes. but first he'd make sure i was setup optimally for the 1 year of hands out of the tank to grow the best... and all i am saying is that... as far as "plans go" - i dont feel like the tank is optimal right now for these frags to grow out. if it was, i have no problem keeping my hands out. just need that optimal setup, and i swear, i can sit back... really! :)

Just be really careful if you decide to move the rocks around not to disturb the sand, I did this last year and it took about 3 months of water changes to get the system to come back around. I lost most of my SPS colonies and even a few chalices.

I think you need some more room, just be careful!!

I did some moving of the rocks tonight, pushing them towards the middle. Disturbed more sand than I would've liked. I did an immediate 10% water change to remove some of the crap that entered the water column. Still don't like it, but will wait until tomorrow to re-examine the aquascape. I'll do another 10% water change tomorrow as well.

OK Rob, that was awesome.

Ryan, I think your rockscape is awesome and I wouldn't change much. Maybe adjust a little bit, but not much.

Also, if you decide to sell a few hundred frags please keep me in mind...

Dude - just leave it alone. You're going to end up killing off all of your SPS from stress, whether it's changing the lights, or moving the rock, or knocking them over. Keep your hands out of the tank and let them grow.

Your rockwork is open enough that you don't need to change anything. You should have plenty of flow in that tank for your SPS......and if you need more in the future, add another powerhead.

Okay. I will take a FTS today to show how I moved the rocks and how I swapped a couple of sps around. I basically just pushed the rocks toward the middle, and raised the reflector a little bit more. I am definitely not getting the complete spread that I would prefer, but if everyone and their mother thinks I should leave it alone, then I will listen, as I always do. So lets see what it looks like in 3 months. Thanks for the constructive advice for those of that provided it.

I think that moving the rocks to the center and moving a few things to better spots was a good idea. I am still trying to recover from the work I did to our tank, it definatly pissed some corals off... And if I would have taken the sand bed out like I wanted to the tank probly would have not done well at all. I am still waiting to see how the mr. coral frags grow out!

(edited)

looking good. still thinking a vortech on the left side (closest to the overflow), centered on the pane would be great for the SPS
