  1. Awesome Kcco beer in the back ground there! Chive on!
  2. Dry rock is by far the easiest and safest way. Cheaper too. What's the point of buying live rock to kill it all off.
  3. If you have no Means of providing oxygen with a pump or air stone you can scoop water and pour it back in, over and over.
  4. Looks great john, love the rock work.. I'll have to swing by and check it out .
  5. Hey john, congrats on the new tank!
  6. pm DaveS , I think he was looking for donations for the school tank. My advice, carefully research before making purchases.
  7. This always make me thankful to have underground power. In 5 years here we've never lost power for longer than 3 hours. Good luck and glad to see you're prepared.
  8. Drill everything. It looks much cleaner and it makes having a top/screen on your tank much easier.
  9. You could try setting up a Xenia farm. They're known to have some good ability to take up nutrients. Just throwing it out there as it seems you've tried pretty much everything else. I feel for you, I've been fighting the endless phosphate battle. Good luck.
  10. Those fish aren't very active (as in not big water column swimmers). You also probably don't need 3 emerald crabs in a 38. The lawnmower blenny will probably continue to harass the firefish as well..
  11. How can you be certain you don't have aiptasia in your sump and or overflow/plumbing.? Seems like a lot of work for something you still cant be sure of.
  12. It's probably getting stung by the hammer sweepers. They can reach out a good distance.
  13. None of those are really "reef" bulbs. I think you'll be disappointed if you try and run those. They're not very powerful at all.
  14. http://orphek.com/new-product-t5t8-led-tubes/ She's referring to these I think. They fit in like a t5 bulb via an adapter.
  15. Fwiw you'll probably change your aqua scape several times before you're happy, then after more coral, you'll change it again.
  16. Should've hired robs aquarium service. I'd highly recommend his service if he has availability in the future.
  17. I have LEDs on a Nuvo and I still get condensation as well. I don't really see how switching lights has that much to do with it. I understand the added heat of say MHs, but I don't see the light matters. The Nuvo lids even have 2 holes.
  18. 703- some of liveaquarias notes say some damsels will eat algae. I kind of think they too know what they're talking about.
  19. I ordered some nice 7g jugs that seal and have a spout. Got from amazon for really cheap. Ill try and find the link.
  20. I didn't measure them but they don't seem to work. I had an old wetside from my gen1 and it wouldn't work with my new gen mp10.
  21. I doubt its from to much light, as the bottom is the dying part and he moved it away from the light and then this happened.. I would guess the sand damaged it.
  22. I have a maxspect 27" over my nuvo 24. I like it. Im going to upgrade the optics as well, but right now I have it around 12" above the tank. Mine didn't come with lights.
