flowerseller February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 I've been watching/tracking this storm for days like most of you. As of this morning, I think it's weakening, so... My guess is 15" McLean, VA 22101 proof by yardstick photo
Happyfeet February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 I'm going to go with 3' falling all at once in one solid blanket for Springfield. People called me crazy for building a bomb shelter, now who's laughing?
Sikryd February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 12" in Riviera Beach, MD Its the wet stuff so it'll compact!
Glenn February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 prediction is 20-30 for my area so I'm going right in the middle - 25" in Harpers Ferry (25425)
extreme_tooth_decay February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 National weather service just bumped up its estimate for Alexandria area to 20"-28".
onux20 February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 Between 0 and 30 inches in Chevy Chase, 20815. Can anyone say non-committal?
davelin315 February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 Seems like they always underestimate for here - they say it'll be 65, it's 70, they say it'll drizzle, it downpours, they say it'll snow 20-28", it'll snow 28"-36". So, my guess is 32" with wind gusts of up to 35 mph pushing it into drifts of over 4'.
Reefer37 February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 26.25" In Warrenton Was supposed to be a wet snow, but so far pretty small flakes
El Camaron February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 100 million..... someone had to stray off topic kidding, i am thinking close to 22 also in Germantown but who knows. DANG MOTHER NATURE YOU SCARY.
flowerseller February 5, 2010 Author February 5, 2010 So far I very comfortable with my forecast. This snow is doing exactly what I had suspected it would do once it started. Since it started on the earlier side of when they predicted, it's moving faster than expected the temp has not dropped as fast as first expected if the wind starts coming from the west, as I expect, I just might nail it. Now, if I nail it, and I fully expect to be very close or dead on, I will drink several glasses of good scotch on the rocks.
mogurnda February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 Can anyone say non-committal? I was thinking of bumping the high estimate up, just to be sure. Now, if I nail it, and I fully expect to be very close or dead on, I will drink several glasses of good scotch on the rocks. Same idea here. If I get it right, we're cracking a decent bottle of red and having a fire.
ctenophore February 5, 2010 February 5, 2010 Now, if I nail it, and I fully expect to be very close or dead on, I will drink several glasses of good scotch on the rocks. I imagine you'll drink several glasses of good scotch if you get it dead wrong too.

I wish the basement is done, I miss having a fireplace. I had one in S. California growing up for pete's sake. Nothing like the ambiance of a fire, even if you don't need the heat! I imagine you'll drink several glasses of good scotch if you get it dead wrong too. lol I wish I could find my 30ft. tow strap. I know I could use it to help pull some people out. I think someone stole it from the back of my truck though :( its been there for a few years now. I think I used it 2x in N. Dakota in 5 years - and 10x here in one. People are a little more adept at driving in the stuff up there even when there is tons of snow.
