  7. I mix coral life and instant ocean salts. Seems to work good.
  8. Thanks everybody for the options but, my primary interest was the effect vinager had on water quality and why nobody uses this method to kill them?
  9. About 10 years ago during my first go around at reef keeping I had an aiptasia issue. My local LFS advised me to just take a large syringe and inject a small drop of vinegar into the aiptasia to kill them and just do a few a day. I did and it seemed to work great. Since I have gotten back into the hobby I have done a lot of research and reading on the internet. I have never once heard this suggested as a way of killing aiptasia. I have recently noticed a couple aiptasia in my tank and would like to kill them. So I am wondering if this is a bad idea? What effect will the small amount of vinegar have on my water quality? Thanks,
  10. Honda by far makes the best generator. They are way quieter than any other model and probably more efficent. They are also way more $$ than others. I bought a 7500w craftsman with a briggs and stratton and electic start for about 1/3 the price of an equivalent honda. Its loud but gets the job done.
  11. 26.25" In Warrenton Was supposed to be a wet snow, but so far pretty small flakes
  12. Lookin Good! When you get it up and running I will have to come by and check it out since im local. I hope the door holes are big enough to get your equipment through for service...
  13. All of my zoas and palys quit opening up (they didnt shed or really melt, just didnt open for a couple weeks). The only thing I could find was my tank was low on I2 and Mg so I started dosing those and they quickly came back and now havent looked better.
  14. I actually just had my Tunze ato fail last weekend. It has only been in use for 9 months. The optical sensor failed so it thought the water level was ok and didnt add water. Luckly I was home that weekend and caught it in time. Apparantly they had a batch with bad capacitors. It sounds like they are take care of people even after the one year warrenty period. Hope they have a quick turn around, other wise thanksgiving is going to be rather scketchy.
  15. Hi, Is that your 911 in your avatar? You race it in PCA?

  16. I have been battling a species of Asterina Starfish in my tank that I am 100% sure is eating my coraline algae. I pick anywere from 2 to 20 out of the tank on any given day, a couple have been up to the size of a quarter but most are small. They have never bothered my zoas or palys though, but i wonder if they are what ate my clove polyps. I have been trying to buy a harlequin localy but have had no luck.
  17. How did you attach the sand to the wall?
