  1. ....so, can a 6080 be upgraded to a 6100 or alike for use on a 7095 controller? How do you have 2 6000s on a 75 without a sand storm....would love to see in person or pic....just getting one 6080 on my 90 without kicking up too much sand is a challange....currently deflecting flow against rockwork with some degree of success.....Tunze nano 6045.....not impressed....will be modding and/or changing perpeller on 6080 to 6060 perpeller
  2. been running a Eheim 1262 on my 90 without issues....nice and quite.....keep the rubber feet on it and/or use flexible PVC to keep vibration to a minimum.
  3. I rewired my hood with 16/2 because that is all I had......works great.....little bulky and overkill but works great.
  4. 287 w/o ozone - Milwaukee SMS125 pH/ORP Controller
  5. one could also drill frag stations into the rock if one wanted...could then just place frag plugs in the rock intead of in sand bed or on shelves...wish I thought of that when I was setting my tank up.....
  6. got any constuction plans for that skimmer? and maybe a build list? thinking of building one rather than buying one......
  7. In my 90, the agressor in the yellow tang.....my stock consists of the following; 1 yellow tang 2 Percula Clownfish 1 Pajama cardnal 1 Azure Damsel I just added an Eibli Angel last weekend and although most of the agression is over at this point, the eibli does have a nice nick on the side where the tang managed to pin it against a rock. Have noticed all fish in tank get out of the path of the tang....Any one or all of the fish could have helped in the missing livestock mystery.
  8. they have an RS-180 promo?....all I see is the RS-80 promo....would really bring the price down if they did
  9. have you tried Ceramic Frag Stations? I have a 5 frag one that I am trying....looks nice and this way I can move frags as needed/as desired... http://www.thefilterguys.biz/frag_supplies.htm
  10. I too run Hamilton 14k 250s on my 90....really like to blue hue PAR is nowhere near 10k bulbs but I like the look on my tank
  11. What about removing the foam block on the powerheads and/or return pump.....never thought of it before but the ehiem 1262 comes with a foam block inside the pump.....my ehiem is in my sump (90gal display w/ 30gal sump) rather than having it run externally......wonder what would happen if I removed the foam block....right now, it is preventing alot of detritus and chato pieces from entering the pump....yes, I have chaeto in my un-baffled sump.... I have lots of flow in the display tank and maybe over feed so I get alot of detritus going down the overflow into the sump....for water changes I pump 10 - 20 gal out of the sump every few weeks and try to get as much of the detritus out in the process....do you have the same issue? When I remember to rinse the foam block, it is just packed with waste......could you have the same issues?....maybe it is just me :-)....but this is why my Nitrates are high .... ~5ppm .... or you could just use nitrate remover.....but that would not be solving the underlying issue just putting a band aide on it....
  12. I too have had a great experience with them....ordered a WavySea Plus from them.
  13. Is Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure safe for all coral....SPS/LPS/Softies?

  15. no, i disagree. I have one, wish I had another, on my 48" long 90gal. they work great. the key is placement. move it down in the tank alittle and the whirlpool will stop....and yes, I got the largest prop on mjmods for my mj1200 I have mine 6" below water line
  16. I used superglue on the three I and friends built and have had no problem....you can also use the same glue used when glueing frags to rock....
  17. Am familur and used http://www.reeferrocks.com/baserock/index.htm price was good...TROLL, this is were the base rock I used and have extra pieces of....very nice in my opinion...will post pics tues/wednesday look at the pics and you can see my tank when I started and where it is now....can not tell that half the tank was base rock http://wheelofish.com/AquaBlog/90gal.html
  18. I have a few pieces of dry rock left from when I setup my 90....I used the dry as base rock and them added my live rock from my 55 ontop of that.....worked great. As I said, I have a few pieces of the dry / base rock left unused and would be willing to part with them for real cheap (only taking up space) will take pics and weight as soon as I get back into town.

  20. So I take it all your heaters were plugged into the one controller?......next time as a safety measure, have another heater in the sump or display tank not connected to the controller. That way if one flakes out, you have a backup....you have more then one heater anyway right?!
  21. look on ebay, there are loads of knock-off DIY kits for much less....I used to have a CPR HOT fuge in addition to a sump and it worked great....not worth the high $$ for brand name when you can DIY this unit.
  22. don't understand how a marsupial would help but hay if you can train one to box i guess accomplishing a water top-off would be a cool thing to see
  23. see if they have a aquahub Top-it-Off Kit .... very easy... all you need is a pump/powerhead .... it comes with the rest
  24. have used it in the past....worked well except check that the filter-bag is sealed properly....the beads are non-toxic but they can spread quickly over the tank if the bag busts.
  25. lately I have been using API Safe & Easy aquarium cleaner wipes.....can be found at petco.....says safe for acrylic and glass....I have an acrylic tank and does an ok job....just as long as you are nt trying to clean salt-creep :-)
