  1. Rik, Many thanks for finding and sharing these kinds of articles. They're great to read! (and to plan future dive trips)
  2. Raymond, Welcome. Another refeer in DC. Yea! We must be up to 7 or 8!
  3. Dan, Looks like you're on your way....!
  4. A word of caution with using generic compressors and attached tanks. Some compressors can throw out a little bit of oil with the air. This oil gets into the compressed air tank which then gets into the aquarium.
  5. John, VERY nice growth and lights....boy that lighting configuration seems awfully familiar! We like it in our tank also!
  6. Nice Chip. Is that your new "ocean theme" fish platter? And I think it is Hulk Hogan...
  7. How about just using a sheet of vinyl on the floor? (is this getting off-topic)
  8. I have a couple of Harlequins in my tank to take care of the asterina stars. The shrimp have grown from around 3/4" to about 1 1/2". I did drop a leg of a chocolate star into the tank once and one harlequin was just carrying it around like a edible suitcase. I have not done any special feeding otherwise (and they are still alive).
  9. Wreck. Looking good. Would you want to add antoher powerhead for more flow (I see two). I find dead spots to be a killer (sic).
  10. You got a license? Looks like someone took a photo from inside the dumpster!
  11. Bob, That's great news! Congratulations on successfully crossing the power outage hurdle.
  12. All we need are new sources of energy and new sources of (tasty) nutrition. Given that our knowledgebase is doubling, what is it now, 25 years, these issues will be surmountable in your lifetime. So, don't worry. However, maintaining the existing species number while we solve the issues is going to be key.
  13. Dave, Welcome back. Was there in Nov. East side by Barefoot Cay (Mary's Place, etc.). Off the trampled path, it was nice. On...not so.
  14. Yer photos are killing me! NICE!
  15. Chris, In case you have not found this thread. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...mp;pagenumber=1 and http://www.melevsreef.com/aefw.html and http://www.melevsreef.com/flatworms.html
  16. Excellent! BTW...for the skimmer, can you set it on a stand made of pvc pipes glued together (keep the flow going in your sump). Hmnn...not so easy with slashes and dashes! /-----------/ /| /| /-|--------/- | |/ ------- |-| | | /| /-----------/
  17. David, You can get float switch sump pumps at HD/Lowes. This would be a low-cost alternative. If you are putting in a sump, check the Home Depot 1,2,3 books. You may be able to do this yourself. If not, you may want to check out adding a french drain setup with the sump... I have used Kesterson in Alexandria for some work and they were fine. Be prepared to spend $. Best
  18. You can say that again... oh wait, didn't I give YOU money this past weekend!
  19. I think Bob may mean: This display.... --------------------- 9:01 $47 $50 ----------------------- was actually entered like this... --------------------- 8:59 $47 omigosh..omigosh...I'm going to loose it...better bid again... 9:01 timestamp, but bidder thought it was 9:00 $50 ----------------------- So, both these bids are then thrown out.
  20. Wow! Bare hands!! You must change your handle to "Xenia - Warrior Princess"
  21. Don't you mean, "incredible and worth the DIVE"
  22. Justin, Thanks for having us all over. What a great setup! Best, Nadir
