I had a chance to see my "dream" tank when I saw some of the Marineland Deep Dimensions tanks at ThatPetPlace. Very very nice tanks. Good craftsmanship too. Beveled edges, black silicone, and the stands and canopies were pretty nice too. The stands were a little short, but I understand now that there are different grades of stands and canopies, so we'll see. One idea was to just get the tank and hope for ybenormal to build me a stand, and canopy if its not an in-wall tank. Probably won't be in-wall though, since I think one of the great things about a 3' deep tank is that you should be able to view from all three sides. If you ever get a chance to see a display of these tanks, you'll see what I mean. Gotta have the house to put it in first though

I think he meant to just use the putty to attach the frag to the rocks. I've done this before. Find a good crater in the rock where the frag will fit, and fill around it with putty. I have to admit though, having those discs underneath the corals makes it pretty easy to get it off the rock if you ever decide to sell the coral. -
Agreed with what was said above, but I like to limit the amount of scavengers in my tank to a degree. I let my asterina star population get out of hand, and I woke up to several stars devouring one of my dendro polyps. Two harlequin shrimp have put a stop to that. I had an ENORMOUS population of bristle worms in my tank, which has been severely cut back due to having 4 wrasses in my tank. Not gonna lie, I also have a personal vendetta against the bristle worms. I am VERY allergic to them, and my skin takes literally weeks to recover after a sting. I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hence me having 3 Melanarus wrasses in my tank

You're making me want to watch the discover channel man Love that stuff.

Melanarus wrasses!!! Mine go after them alot. They're good with taking care of other pests too. http://www.bluezooaquatics.com/productDeta...977&cid=290

If the blocks weren't so freaking expensive, I'd give it a try.

Like the title say, has anyone ever used these: http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/m...;Category_Code= Seems like a good idea in theory. Very porous material which enables alot of biological colonization. The 9" x 9" x 4" block seems like it would have quite a bit of inside area for anaerobic denitrification. Thought??.......

You get the Tunze new or used? If new, hopefully you can return it for your money back, or at least credit. Never knew there were mods for the remoras. Go with the Deltec. Thinks about your livestock How much extra room is there behind the back wall?? Did you put liverock rubble back there live I've seen alot of people do? What are your thoughts on these? http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/m...;Category_Code= or these http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/m...;Category_Code= to go in the back to get additional bacterial filtration? Just an idea. I'd give them a try, if I had a nano. -

If it'll fit on the back, you should get one of these: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~cat...y~FIPSISNW.html Its a little more expensive, but pretty amazing from what I've heard and read. You could also go even bigger and get the MCE600, which means you wouldn't have to upgrade skimmers WHEN you upgrade Seriously though, I had the MCE600 on my Mom's 55gal and I couldn't believe the skimmate I got out of it. Smelled and looked just like the skimmate from my larger deltec. I never got skimmate like that from my old Remora. The Remora was an ok skimmer, the two HOB deltecs are incredible skimmers. Plus, if your tank is somewhat quiet, then kiss that goodbye with the Remora. Just my 2 pennys. -

You definitely need to get the skimmer working. One of the things you NEED when dosing vodka is a powerful and working skimmer. Good thing is that even if it isn't pulling anything out, its is at least oxygenating the water, which as I'm sure you've read is critical when experiencing the bacterial bloom. I wish I could offer some tips on the skimmer, but I've never had that one. -
Really? I'll believe it when I see it.

I forget which book it was, but it recommended one great solution to Tang aggression is to add more Tangs. I believe the magic number was 5 or more. It does help spread out aggression. It worked for me back in my old 180gal. I had a Sohal, Naho, Blonde Naso, Hippo, and Blue Atlantic, and they all got along. I added the Sohal last, and was smaller than the others. I also had a spotted rabbitfish, which I kid you not, acted like the policeman of the tank. Whenever there was aggression between the other fish, it would start changing color and flaring its spikes. I know I've had conversations with other wamas members that described similar experiences from their rabbitfish.

Awesome video and corals. Great song too. That song always reminds me of college, when I was introduced to other forms of music other than hip hop. Ahhhh, college, good times

I know many people test the Mag levels in their water change water anyways, because the Mag is usually low in most salt mixes. I would at least test it so you can bring it up to where it should be at in the first place.

I have a civic, so it only ends up being $10 or so to make it out there. If you do end up needing me, you have my number. Just give me a call tonight. That way I know to head to bed at a decent time instead of staying up late studying.

Jeez, even your sump is pristine. I'm convinced everything is photoshopped!!!

What kind of ballast are you running? Maybe its the wrong kind of ballast? I've seen people run the Radiums on electric and HQI ballasts.

I would figure it was deleted because yagerboy is a "bb member" as was trying to sell items in the "general" section. I didn't personally delete it, so lets wait and see who did.

Agreed. I know many people here and over on Cmas that have used them with great success. You just gotta be willing to give the rock a few months to colonize. I got a piece way back when and it took around 6-8 months to get coraline finally growing on it. Colored up in a couple months, but didn't truely blend in for a while. I will definitely consider using them on any large tank I have in the future. Might take a while to colonize, but you know they will be pest free. Plus you can get nice LARGE pieces from them if you special order the stuff.

If you do it a little later, sign me up to help at both origin and destination. Doing a google maps search, I'm an hour and three minutes away from Cedar Lane. Who knows how long with the Woodrow Wilson traffic at that time of day. I could maybe meet you at the school for dropoff at 10-10:30. Drop me a PM if thats cool.

If you get that, don't forget about the 5% off code from aquacave: RC5

I'd be down. That's the weekend before my Boards, so that'll make for a very nice study break.

Wow, only $20,000. I was totally expecting more. Really nice looking fish, but that is one crazy pricetag.

Just to confirm, you're saying you have the outflow of the reactor going through a filter sock to catch any dust debris? That way you can have more flow through the reactor.
