  1. It was also a pleasure meeting you Kristen. Glad to see you found some rock to start cycling your Solana. I've got some nice small coraline encrusted pieces I can let you have once you're ready for it. Get some purple color spreading quickly. Just let me know when you're ready.
  2. I stopped by yesterday. I was also impressed with their setup. The construction of their systems is one of the nicest I've seen. Got the full tour and everything. This is now my closest LFS, other than Roozens, so they will be seeing alot more of me.
  3. Thanks everyone. Tomorrow was simply amazing. I felt like I had a joker smile the whole day. I can't believe I'm done. Its still sinking in. Just gotta finish up with my final version of my thesis and submit it by midnight Sunday, and I'm really done. Crazy last night too. I'm paying for it right now though. Hopefully I didn't kill all my brain cells. Here are a couple quick pics: My with my Pediatrics Preceptor: Me before getting my sweet new long coat: I must've been looking at the clock, waiting for her speak to be over already: FINALLY, we got our long coats. I can finally burn my short, midget "student" jackets!!!! The whole class, with me in the back row. Sucks being tall sometimes. Me with some friends post graduation: More to come once they're on photobucket. You guys crack me up. I really need to be making mortgage payments before I upgrade tanks. No sense in upgrading now just to have to move everything sometime in the near future. Trust me, once I have a basement, I will definitely be having a large tank in the future. Still debating on going with a 2' or 3' front to back. Either way, it'll be a simplified MH in Lumenarch/Lumenbright only setup. I'll have plenty of time to think about the designs while I'm paying off some credit cards and saving up for a down payment.
  4. Well its finally here. I'm officially going to be a Physician Assistant as of 5pm today. Can't believe its been 2.5 years already. Heading out now for rehearsal and probably won't be back until afterward the main ceremony, so I wanted to check back in one last time a student. Thanks to Wamas for helping me keep my sanity throughout this whole ordeal. Not sure what I would've done if I didn't have my tank and you guys to help calm my nerves. P.S. I promise to stop complaining about being a poor student, at least when I finally start work in October I do take the Boards at the end of August, so expect plenty of whining about that
  5. Best $20 I ever spent in the hobby. Withing a week of paying the $20, I got a used $600 skimmer for only $200. Make my money back 20 fold. Then I attended my first fragfest and got 13 free frags. I'd like to say its worth it.
  6. How in the world have I missed this thread? You completely crack me up sometimes man. Please tell me this is going in your friends basement? That way if (when) it floods, at least it'll be easier to clean up. And this: You have my number. I have extra supplies that I "borrowed" from the hospital. I'll be able to sew that up nicely. As long as you promise to take pics of the procedure and post them on here
  7. I'd bid on that!!!! I'll even start the bidding. $20!!!
  8. I can't count how many oh $%^& moments I've had over the years. At least it sounds like you didn't lose anything.
  9. Looking good. I'm counting all the things I want frags of. hehe tagging along................
  10. Looking good. I can see Robie's influence on the aquascaping. Big open spaces bro!
  11. Tagging along as well. I've seen this tank setup under a different owner, can't wait to see what you'll do with it.
  12. Try this: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~cat...FILTFILDLK.html Do a search for "current LED". There are a couple different versions of these. One with all white LEDs, one with all blue LEDs, and one with 50/50 blue and white.
  13. You should try some type of monti first, since they're pretty hardy. Then make your way onto harder to keep stuff.
  14. You could always add a couple of these: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_searchItem~C...0~parsed~1.html Ignore the lighting fixtures at the bottom of the list. The first few LED lights are what I'm referring to.
  15. Welcome to the club. I look forward to seeing your progress.
  16. I have an AP851 on a 92gal corner, so I'm just as guilty as you
  17. So you've got a Deltec AP701 on a 90gal tank. Overskim much??
  18. I gotta agree with that one too. I can picture the flow going around and around and around. Definitely one of the more interesting concepts I've seen in a fish tank. Put two modded maxijets on there and watch the water swirl.........
  19. I got mine from Raf. I waited forever for it too. Worth every penny I paid, or traded I should say.
  20. You're at the end of a long long waiting list Connor. Raf also has one of these, unless it died in his move, and I know he has a long waiting list as well. They just don't reproduce that often. Since they have the bubbles around the actual mouth, I believe this is a yuma, and not as hardy as the ricordea floridas, so I'm not willing to manually split it until I have at least one offspring to fall back on, in case the split pieces die on me.
  21. Hold on, Chris has sand now? No way.
  22. Where in the world do you get that stuff . Amazing as always.
  23. The only thing about those fixtures is that you don't get anywhere near the spread from those MH reflectors as you do from the higher end reflectors. If you want to see good growth, you'll have to aquascape accordingly and be mindful with coral placement. Honestly, I've seen a few nice setups now that had just MHs, with no supplementation lighting, and their tanks looked awesome. I'm going to try this with two 250watt MHs over my 92gal corner. I have two separate ballasts so I will turn one on and then the other a half an hour later, to try to simulate the sun coming up. I use to do this with actinic VHOs, but I'm sure it'll be fine to do it this way too. I'll do the same to get the dawn effect.
  24. Gee, I wonder if you could be Paul Chase who gave the review here: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_viewItem~idP...1645~tab~4.html
  25. Agreed. Definitely really cool. I'd be interested in trying a lamp out over a frag tank. If you ever do that bulk buy and need beta testers, count me in.
