  8. Steve, My setup feeds a top off reservoir, 2-3 g. Once that is full, it tees off to feed a 32 g Brute I use to make saltwater. Both are managed by individual float valves. Top off float lifts when full. Then water travels to 32 brute until that float lifts. Been run this way for about two years now that I think about it. Shut off valve is located between the Ro and DI sections as required per the instructions.
  9. I need some help…again I installed an auto shutoff valve on my RODI system. It had been working as advertised since installed a year ago maybe. Within the last month or so, I have noticed the water never shuts off. I replaced the shut off valve thinking it failed but no change. I just changed the check valve thinking that may have been it, still the water getting by. I have downloaded instructions and reinstalled as described. Any ideas of why water is getting by? Also, recently have low pressure thru the system. Used to be at the low end of the recommended range but now it is well below the ideal pressure. Any ideas of why or how to remedy short of a booster pump?
  10. Tom, et al Thanks. I crimped it as well as I could. Connection was secure when I buttoned the light back up. I only changed the one end that failed. OpTest was good. However, the fans are REALLY loud now. Not sure what happened there. Anyway, thanks for all of the advice and hints.
  11. Stuck like Chuck! Took a while to figure out how to get the light apart to actually get to the connection. Now that I have it apart, there is a metal wire fastener that I cant get apart. So off to the hardware store tomorrow to get a new fastener and see if I can remember how to put it back together. Thanks for the advice. I am only going to change the one socket that failed not both ends of the DE socket. That should be okay right?
  12. replace both sockets? @Rob, I only bought two so I couldnt replace all now anyway.
  13. Okay before I make a poor decision, please help. I changed out the bulbs last week and found that the “bulb retaining mechanism” inside one of the DE MH sockets was jacked up. The internal piece in the socket is bent and no longer under tension and therefore won’t keep the bulb in place. So I ordered a replacement 250W DE socket. Is this something I can replace with ZERO electrical skills and questionable DIY skills? If I replace one socket, should I replace both? Or all four sockets? If not recommended I do this myself, is there someone willing to come over and do this for me for a nominal fee? Thoughts, advice, or warnings are welcomed.
  14. Vertex pellets work better...for me. No scientific proof, just my observation. I started with the ones from Avast and did not notice much. Then I switiched and things seemed to go better for me. Maybe you need to add more pellets. Small increments tho
  15. Can of worms here!!! Some love it. Some hate it. I think the variety of fish they carry is amazing. The health of the fish is what keeps me from buying from there again since I dont QT. But others have had great success with fish from there. Ron
  16. Yes, The float sholud be set to turn off water before it reaches the hole you drilled. However you cant be too safe!
  17. 82mm hole saw. Only drilled one hole with it. LMK Ron
  18. Thats a good idea. I think this is a more universal solution. I think some of the LFSs carry the shut off valves and floats. BRS sells the kit I believe. Havent had a flood since installing this. Plus you waste less water. Once your container is full the ASOV shuts off water entering the system.
