  1. Ok the titles on the videos are correct. I think I messed up my posts and timeline. After day 3, i've done 1 gallon water changes everyday. Basically use an airline to vacuum the bottom and then drip the replacement water for 8 hours. Anyway here's 5 days post hatch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk5cpr18bJY
  2. Thanks! By the way, I keep the pvc in there to keep the air line under the heater.
  3. Here's the video at day 3. I introduced TDO A and have slowed down with adding rotifers. Some have been picking on the TDO A. I'm still adding RGcomplete but not as much. I think I may have also lost 5 babies during this time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ1vi0nQ7CY
  4. Here is another video at 1 day post hatch. I kept the lights on for 24 hours. The rotifers took care of the the green water so it's a little clear. You can also somewhat see the rotifer density. I think I put in too much rotifers. Anyway, I added RGcomplete to tint the water again. I added them slowly to not shock the fry. I think I diluted in rodi water and added a drop every 10 seconds or so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrzq63Gkigc
  5. Here's the video on hatch night. I tinted the water with RGcomplete and put in the rotifers before I tried to catch all the fry from the reef tank. I think I was able to get about 70-80 babies. I always rinse the rotifers in tank water before I put them in the fry tank. Tank temp is at 81. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R333xE5Gxi0
  6. wow I didn't realize I had this thread going almost 5 years ago. They have been laying eggs every 2 weeks for the past 5 years. I never tried to raise the fry until last week. I was able to get a rotifers culture going last month and bought some RGcomplete with TDO A and B1. I also checked my previous emails and the Rod's Onyx was purchased from Rod's Reef in 2005. I purchased the male picasso/snowcasso from Doni in 2008. They fry are at 10 days old now and are past meta. I have about 50 in the fry tank. Will be posting crappy cell phone pics and videos shortly.
  7. How's your tank doing?

man it is so neglected. I still have some stuff but sps has been suffering! but my lps are doing well. I blame 3 dogs and my kids sports activities! is it me or does it seem like people are not going crazy for corals like the old days?!?!?! hey what happened to fins and feathers? I had not gone there in like almost 3 years. I think the video where sean said some bad stuff about how much they care for the puppies they sell there may have sunk his ship....

let me know if you have any pearlberry frags. I think they just have a hard time dealing with the landlord. That center is just more expensive compared to the other ones in the area. I've seen that video. I believe they took his comments out of context. I think he is talking about how other stores care for their puppies and the video made it seem like he's talking about how he cares for his stuff. Anyway, hope all is well. I have an icefire frag if you're interested.

  8. I thought my tank had it bad. Hopefully everything gets better. Let me know if there's anything I can do.
  9. I'm going on a 2 week vacation (cruise) with limited to no phone/internet. My sister is going to watch the tank but would like to have a backup contact in case something catastrophic happens. Please let me know if you're able to help in case something is needed. Thanks!
  10. I did a soak in vinegar diluted in water. It was in there for a day. Then did a soak in RO water for about 2 days. Then i had it cooking in a rubbermaid bin for 3 weeks. No iisues so far.
  11. Thanks guys! I actually went ahead and moved most of my livestock in my 180g. Still need a lot of work as I need to plumb it. Will work on it tonight so I'll let you guys know if I still need it tomorrow.
  12. My 40 breeder sump cracked and started leaking. I just got done cleaning up but i am running the tank without a sump. Also just hooked up a tunze nano skimmer but it is not enough. Does anyone have a hang on skimmer i can borrow/rent? I have a 180g that i am setting up but it isnt ready yet. I'm tempted to move all of my stuff there. Oh get one of those frog leak/flood detectors from amazon. That notified me that there was something leaking. Without those, i probably would have waken up to a flooded basement.
  13. I used to buy them at centreville aquarium. Not sure if they still sell them.
  14. Looks great Evan. TOTM for sure.
  15. For a 9" tall tank, I would go with the Kessil. I've seen the A150 15K on a biocube. It looked great and I was surprised by the colors of the corals. I don't have any experience with the AI nano but it is just a combination of cool white, blue, and royal blue Crees. I have a DIY unit running those and the coloration of the Kessil looked much better to me especially SPS colors. True that the AI unit has a controller so you can change the spectrum and PAR would be much better on the AI nano but for a 9" tank, PAR wouldn't be an issue for me with those 2 lights.
  16. Thanks again to Sean, Gloria, Jenny! Sean ordered a pair of Helfrichi firefish for me at a price that are lower than what other LFS have quoted me. More importantly, the fish are healthy and eating pellets and flakes already. He received a lot of really nice SPS this week. Got a few frags but I'll definitely stop by tonight to pick up a few more corals.
  17. Here are my picks from your list: Red: ORA Red Planet Orange: Orange Montipora Setosa Yellow: Pink Lemonade Green: Green Slimer Blue: Oregon Blue Tort Purple: GARF Purple Bonsai Pink: Pink Stylo
  18. For a 250w Radium, it would be ideal to run it on an M80 ballast. The M80 runs it at about 270 Watts. I've also heard good things about the Lumatek Select-A-Watt ballasts as these have an HQI setting. From what I read, underdriving the Radiums shortens its lifespan.
  19. I have one of those that I was going to use for a frag tank but ended up using it on the main tank. No issues so far and it's been about year and a half. I have one with 30 RB and 25 whites. With all on, it looks about 12000K. You can customize the B:W ratio on those and the newer ones coming out have a dimmer.
  20. Try the ushio 20k. It's a little bluer but nice. I'll see if I still have any of my old bulbs so you can try them out.
  21. Look for Astralux 14K. Not sure if they still make them but those are the ones I liked when I ran 70w.
