  1. My son has a basketball tournament in NY. If schedule permits, I will try to stop by.
  2. Jehmco has some linear piston air pumps that are highly recommended by several clownfish breeders.
  3. Awesome! Congratulations and good luck. It's a lot of work but also fun. I can stare at the babies all day.
  4. John, have you also thought about this food? I know they are not a wamas sponsor but I've been hearing great things from them. They are based in VA too. http://www.jimbosgumbos.com/
  5. I normally get the reef, fish, and fertility. Would like to try the fish eggs.
  6. wow. glad you are ok. Car can be replaced.
  7. Looks like there is a new store in Sterling. Does anyone know anything about this store/owner? http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/for/5722866633.html
  8. details on the auto water change? Glad to hear about your progress.
  9. I may be in the minority but I've had good luck so far with Jebaos. I have 3 WP-25s that are still running. The only thing bad is that they need to be cleaned often otherwise it affects the flow. I have had no issues with their DC pump (DC3000 and DCT4000). Now that I think about it, i've had two Eheim 1048 pumps die on me but those are for calcium reactors so it's in a harsher environment. I did run an Eheim 1262 for about 5 years on that 156g with no issues. I also see that Geo's reactors are now running Sicce pumps instead. I have 4 Vortechs (3 MP40w and one MP20). I've had the worst luck out of the Vortechs (3 bad magnets that cracked/expanded, the propellers were out of balance, the inner cover wore out, the impeller washer wore out, dry side motor rattling on one). I think I've spent more money on maintaining the Vortechs than any other equipment. I would suggest the Laguna pumps as I've had great long term experience with those. I have a Max-flo 2400 that has been running for 4 years and a skimmer with a Laguna 1500 for at least 5 years. Those pumps are solid. The only issue is that they are pond pumps so the cord is long and it doesn't come with a stand/feet so I have mine sitting on a piece of foam/pad.
  10. I have been using a Jebao DC3000 for 2 years now with no issues. However, reliability always scares me with Jebao as I always read bad reviews. I always keep a spare one. Anyway, I love the silence and control of the DC pump but you can't go wrong with an Eheim 1262. I also have a laguna pond pump that's been running for about 5 years. Not as quiet as the Eheim but it does move more water. For my clownfish tank, I have a Sicce Syncra 1.5 which is really nice and quiet.
  11. was that blue purple the one you got from me? I lost a whole bunch of acro colonies but have a small frag of it and the icefire left.
  12. Here's an updated video of what's coming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fukF2qMOdFo
  13. Hey Chris, Shape and facial marks is more like the mom. The helmet/hat looks more like the dad in most babies.
  14. Thanks! @Mattiejay6 I have to work something out with you
  15. Thanks! I'm really happy with how they're turning out. Nice shape too. They are a lot of work.
  16. They are developing nicely. Here they are at 60 days old. Some from my Rod's Onyx and CQuest Onyx pair:
  17. Thanks Larry! I actually spoke to you briefly at MACNA. Hoping to try out your new blend when it becomes available.
  18. Thank you! These are going to be nicer once the black fills in. I'm not sure of the price yet but I do plan on selling a few to get back the cost of breeding and hopefully build a better setup. Right now, I can only raise 1 batch at a time due to not having space for growout.
  19. Here are some photos I took yesterday. They are 45 days old here. I have them mixed in with some babies from my Rod's Onyx and C-Quest onyx babies.
  20. Glad to know that color has been holding. On some onyx perculas, they tend to lose the black color mainly when hosted by bubble tips but I've heard the same with ritteris.
  21. nice! it would be interesting to see if that onyx clown holds the onyx coloration in the ritteri. Please keep us updated.
  22. I've seen 2 NYOS skimmers in operation now and they have been amazing. I am going to look into the NYOS 160 for my next one. Please keep us updated on how yours is working.
  23. Sure did. Had a long conversation with those guys. They don't feed rotifers but use I believe calanoid copepods. Those babies they had there had excellent shape and coloration.
  24. Thanks! I have some babies that are 14 days old and already see 4 that have helmet patterns. Hope to post some updates soon.
