  1. Dave - What kind of pads do you use? Are they the stock pads that come with it?
  2. Ok, I have a 220g tank and 40g sump, use instant ocean (not reef crystals), and run a kalk reactor. 1/2 my tank is loaded with SPS and it's loaded with corraline and I'm able to keep my calcium in the 450 range. Something doesn't seem right here.......are you sure your test kit is good?
  3. 3/4" acrylic. I'm looking for something strong enough to hold with a Magic Eraser pad added to the inside and outside.
  4. What's the best one out there? Can't reach the bottom of my tank and need to find a way to clean the tank without scratching the front panel. Ideally, I'd like something with the Mr. Clean type of pad on the inside and outside (if there is such a thing). What have you had success with?
  5. +1 to window screen. If you don't want to do that, just get a couple of 2x4s to put under the fixture legs. After a week, remove one and get rid of the second one after another week. You'll be fine.
  6. Judging by your work on this tank, the 180 will be spectacular. Looking forward to the build.
  7. Lol, I've got the 2500s but wanted to make sure it would work before I bought the 1000. I'm going to have a couple of extra impellers for the 2500s if you need one Evan.
  8. Wanted to see if I could switch a PSK1000 pump body with a PSK2500 impeller and volute. Anyone know?
  9. That tank looks familiar.........just a little smaller than mine. Can't wait to see it with water in it.
  10. Looks like this will only be good for sniffing!!
  11. I haven't been able to find the Gel stuff at the $1 store, but thanks for the tip. Thanks Dave, I'll give it a shot.
  12. Dave - What makes you think it won't harden as fast as Superglue? Way ahead of you Rob!!
  13. The ingredients don't mention Cyanoacrylate. It says it has Trimethoxysilyl Propylamine.
  14. C'mon......no one? I don't want to be a guinea pig.
  15. I'm surprised they're not swimming into the glass over and over again! lol
  16. They all looked just fine this morning. I just didn't want to put them through another full day of light and possibly do damage.
  17. My controller came unplugged when I was working on the tank yesterday. As a result, the lights stayed on all night. I shut them down manually this morning, but was wondering if I should keep them off for the day or if I just give them a few hours of darkness. I don't want to stress the corals or fish. Thoughts?
  18. Do you have any breaks in your rockwork from front to back? I got a couple pieces of thin acrylic and will chase the fish on to one side of the tank and put the acrylic pieces in as a false wall. I've had to take some rock work out to get the fish, but it really narrows down the area you have to work with. Let me know if you need to borrow them.
  19. I would give it another week or so just to make sure, but yes.....old tank water and rocks from an established tank can help quicken the cycle. I would recommend against the damsels. They are very aggressive fish and could prove troublesome down the line. You'll probably end up having to tear your tank apart to catch them so you can put what you really want in. There are a bunch of non-aggressive fish you can add to the tank - why not start with a pair of clowns? Welcome to the club and good luck!
  20. As I understand it, unfortunately Braden sold his entire system.
