  1. the apex reference manual has a lot of sample programs too.
  2. The code looks correct. There are a lot of fail safe's that can be implemented with an ATO. Here are a few: - put a statement in the code that limits the time that the ato can run ( ie Min Time 010:00 Then OFF) - Create a virtual outlet that is tied to a float valve. This outlet would be set to go on if the float valve (on a breakout box) is on and you would program the virtual outlet to be a timer that starts when the float valve is tripped and only stays on for a predetermined amount of time and then turns off (and turning the float switch off at the same time). Make sure the switch is set up correctly on the breakout box. The change is not instantaneous though. Adding alerts for outlets is very easy. Edit the base_email (device/alert configuration setting). You can add alerts for: high temp low temp PH (high or low) when something turns ON/OFF Daily emails to let you know the apex is online or as a daily check in water sensors float switches etc....
  3. Victor, Easy, change This statement: If Time 19:00 to 07:00 then OFF to this one: If Time 19:00 to 07:00 then ON
  4. here is a good link: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rs/index.php
  5. Here is a shot I took using a gopro without a filter:
  6. connect the Ethernet cable to it with your laptop to test to see if you can browse the internet.
  7. a couple questions for you: Is the bridge wired or wireless? what is the make/model? Have you tried connecting another device (ie laptop, tablet, etc) to it? When you said you set up the bridge, did you configure it to broadcast your exisiting network or did you have to create a new network?
  8. I think it comes down to two things ( I have both in my main tank): aesthetics - Gyre bigger has a cord does a wider "wave" Vortech- smaller footprint no cord less parts customer service is known to be very good (and close to DC).
  9. Here is the thread discussing the update: https://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?11987-Release-4-40 includes: Support for the upcoming Apex WAV Pump and 1Link Module Support for the Apex PMK/ASM Module Increase for Apex Jr System Misc Enhancements/Fixes (I don't know what these are) I would recommend backing your apex up and then upgrading to the latest firmware.
  10. There are vendors that do acrylic work on the board (Avast, Pimped out aquarium, Artfully acrylic, etc). What type of material did you want it made out of? I just built a couple of really nice looking racks out of colored acrylic and still have a lot of acrylic left over. I will have to take a picture of them.
  11. Something else. I use two large barrels and two mag drive pumps. One pump(in the sump) pumps water out and the other (in Saltwater reservoir) pumps water back into sump. Each of them are on for two minutes.
  12. I'm not familiar with the iPhone app because I have a droid, but many people don't use the app because it is buggy. They just bookmark a webpage on their phone and access it there. Can you access your controller from https://apexfusion.com/?
  13. Fireman12s - I moved your topic to the current forum since it is related to Apex programming. I have done something similar to what you are doing. Pump A turns on for x minutes, pumps old saltwater out. Pump B turns on, pumps new saltwater in. While Pump A and B are on, Autotop off is turned off. If you want to incorporate float switches you will need a break out box to tie them in. Then you would incorporate programming for the float switches in each of the pumps. Very easy to do. I would recommend avast's pressure sensor's. If you don't want to use those, a float switch similar to the one you posted would work, but I would do two of each. Two for each pump. One as a failsafe.
  14. I use a calcium reactor and dose 2 part. I dial in the calcium reactor and then use the two part to adjust levels.
  15. yes, same place as the last few. North Bethesda Middle School.
  16. request is in for the Maryland site
  17. Tricia, The Defer and Min time is confusing . He is a good definition for both by giving an example: The Min Time is for when you want an outlet to stay On or Off for a set amount of time. It keeps an outlet in programmed time for the duration that you set. For example: Metal Halide Fallback ON Set OFF If Time 08:00 to 19:00 Then ON Min Time 010:00 Then OFF In the comprehensive manual that give the example of a Metal Halide light that turned off because it lost power. When the power comes back on, the light will stay off for 10 minutes and then turn back on. The Min Time is added because if the power flickers, the light won't try to come back on. Defer The Defer statement is used to make sure an outlet stays in the current "state" for the whole time that you specify. For example, when you install a float switch. You don't want to state of the outlet to change rapidly just because the float changes because of ripples in the water. You want the float switch to be in a certain "state" for a set time (ie 1 min). So if the float switch stays on for 1 min, then the program will execute. If at anytime during that one minute the float switch turns off, the timer resets and the 1 minute starts over. Make sense? I think Tony answered the other question.
  18. I have seen a lot of threads related to Apex programming and setup. I consulted with the rest of the officers and thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where members can: ask questions(Apex setup/programming) post their own code seek help for something they would like to have their apex perform. There are also several sites that have sample code that members can use for themselves. A great site is reeftronics.com. As well as Neptunes's own site which has the holy grail (comprehensive apex manual). I have had my Apex for quite sometime and I have it do almost everything (water changes, email alerts, status checks, change pump cycles, etc). I can certainly answer most questions, so don't be shy. It can get complicated . So post away
  19. I misspoke about deleting them. You can only rename them
  20. We can probably pin a thread somewhere that members can post codes or get help.
  21. I didn't see the presentation either, but it looks interesting. The only issue I see is the cost of the disks that you have to replace each month. At $50 ($600/year), that might be hard for most people to justify.
  22. To delete profiles you have to be physically connected to the controller with a pc or do it from the display. The Web GUI(fusion) does not allow you to delete them (only rename). The virtual outlets are not hard to do either. Just hit me up again when you are ready. Happy to help. Here are some of my virtual outlets:
