  1. 1st off.... if you don't mind me asking... Who told you that a damsel will help with your algae??? Lol Goby's and Blennines are very effective at eating algae. And the Goby's will turn your sand more frequently as well... helping with the sand.algea.problems so a Goby, and a good CUC, should do the job....
  2. Yup, if you blow it around, floats off into a corner, and it gets no light... it dies. Thus releasing those nutrients, Right back into the water.... Don't overfeed. Do you wash your frozen food before?? You could go out and spend allot of money, and get some nice equipment, parts, dosing stuff, etc.... but I really don't think its needed, as everything is doing alright in your tank ATM. Keep It Simple. Cheato, Water Changes, and Time... let the Biological System catch up to the new bio-load in the tank, the cheato will help tremendously. Don't forget to trim. Remember the goal, is to create a Natural, ''Almost'' Self-Supporting Ecosystem. Give it a chance to get back in balance within' itself.... Got allot of life in that tank now for the Bio-Load to handle....
  3. Can you also take a pic, and show us what your bubble traps look like possibly? Which will also, tell how many baffles you used for this... And one more '?'... lo,. What size is this sump?? And filled to hold how much typically???
  4. I'm willing to bet, its just too much flow, with too much being produced by the skimmer. All of that adds up to such a speed, that it does not have a chance to dissipate in time before reaching the return pump... Getting a smaller pump, should fix the problem... still make sure it is enough to power your skimmer nonetheless... Do you have a smaller one, that you could put in place to test and see if that'll fix it??
  5. Porite? Interested to see how it grows, either way.
  6. I agree, has good polyp extension
  7. I agree, and from one who has been on both side's, employee and management... I'd say talk with the owner/Main Manager, about your unfortunate experience... not the M.O.D. at the time apparently. If you have received nothing but great service, why cut yourself short of what could be, and has been a great place for you. Nonetheless, occasionally, this does happen from time-to-time again... and gotta' take them in stride...
  8. I had a feeling it was that.lol. It does happen. Live and Learn.... Now you know more, and can build yourself better upon such... and Not let it happen again...
  9. Yes they are worth it... From someone who is apart of that 70%... And also spent over a year of research, before getting a ''Nice Light''. Simply, because it is such an expensive and critical component to our Reef Systems... When you consider that you can completely tweak them, swap out ALL the components(leds, drivers, potentiometers, etc.), and they come with a warranty... Very Reliable, and ''Great Bang for The Buck''. Spending the extra for an IT Series, is my only regret Not Doing... I really wish I did, I have just the basic D-120's. Nonetheless, I am Very happy with my lights, you could get away with 3 of the 2040??( I think that's the name for the one that replaced the D-120), of them on your tank for full coverage side-to-side.
  10. I would...although, what's not to say... they may not put it back levelish. I'd still try to smooth out those hills...
  11. My Trigger use to LOVE munchin' on them, he is gone now.... :( Now my Clown's and Dottyback do work on them...
  12. I really want one... I can see it sitting on my bed already.hahaha. SoRandom...
  13. Signing up, and spending $20 to become a full member, with all privileges, is easily worth itself with the deals, friends, help, corals, equipment, and so much more... You'll find we have ourselve's a very supportive group here. Should something happen/emergency, you'd be surprised the typical ''response time'' even... Even saved my tail at least once.lol We're a Very Photo-genic Group as well... we LOVE Pictures. Lol. Pic of your tank maybe??? I'm willing to bet, after joining WAMAS, your tank will be 2x as stocked as now by next year... almost guaranteed. Lol.
  14. Well, allow me to be the first to say... Welcome to WAMAS.
  15. Good to hear. Lol. Live rock and algae's are the best. Glad to hear all is well.
  16. Yes and no...IT can, but the corners and far sides will not be as lit... I run 2 D120's over my 55, and now 90... phenomenal side2side Coverage.... Will take pics shortly. Here is my 55 before break down the other week...
  17. Lol... no.. Are you using any, Already at the moment???? Lol.
  18. +1, Great place to start... Are you using any kind of MiracleMud??
  19. Sucks. Can you move it anywhere else in the tank, with less light??? Is there a way to get thinner screens, or make it gradually thinner/higher up???
  20. It should grow back.lol. FunTimes.lol and yes, water change then, because it is releasing Toxins into the Stream..
  21. Yes, that's why I decided to start this one... and plan on getting one here Very Shortly, and will be providing my own as well. I personally like nearly every detail they make about the new ones, and the controls are perfect, simple and effective. The Slow-Start feature is always a nice thing to have...And now they can be controlled... from a IT Unit ( Apex, etc. ). The price... is far lower then many others in its category as well. I'm sure we'll start to see them in allot more tanks like our ReefBreeder's LED's, in no time soon. Lol
