  1. I loved the frags this year, some were huge, I got a 3 head frogspawn and a huge toadstool frag. Just a suggestion for next year would be to separate sps and soft corals in 2 lines but opposite sides of the room. Also there was a lot of confusion about how many frags you were on, another suggestion here would be to give the first person in the line a number, a card or something and then having them go to the back of the line and everyone else follow suit. When that person gets to the front they get their second frag whether they want it or not unless its the same frag, in that case the rest of those frags get set aside until last and if a certain frag runs out in the middle of the line then start with the next one. Just my thoughts and I don't want to sound like my way would work better but maybe with a few other ideas we can find something that might work better.
  2. Thats funny Jake, I was thinking he looked like Jim Carey too.
  3. wow I never gave it that much thought. I guess I'll be making an acid bath and probably should be using caps as well, I've been using my finger tips and that causes contamination too I'm sure. I have used muriatic acid before and it does have some pretty strong fumes and can burn some if it contacts your skin. Just wear some gloves and you'll be fine and even at that diluted of a solution it wouldn't burn much if at all.
  4. after racking my brain for all possibilities "and your alls too" I now remember I had my return pump go out at that time and had a mag pump with a hose running into the top of the tank until I fixed it. That was when the power went out and the hose was about 5" down in my dt and that was causing the siphon. I completely forgot about that because I fixed my return pump and removed the hose and I could turn all power off with no problems. Geez I feel like an idiot sometimes.
  5. I've had my system off for over 10min in the past but haven't tried it since. But how it can drain my dt down about 20 gal or better is beyond me unless somehow it was being siphoned
  6. I recently had a power outage and had an overflow. I have a 125g dt and a 25g sump. I can't figure out why because when I turn my pumps off, only a few extra gal flow back to the sump and doesn't come close to overflowing. Could something cause a siphon and drain my dt. I lost about 20 out of my tank and never want to go through that again.
  7. Thanks, I was hoping that would be the case. I just hated to throw it in and then find my ammonia levels going up.
  8. I removed a large piece of live rock several month ago so I could change my aquascape, now I want to put it back in and change things before I start adding a lot of coral. I only have a few pieces of coral and the frags I got at FF, is it ok to just put it back in my tank or do I have to cook it. Also it has been in a tub and is dry
  9. This was my first time at FF too and Thanks goes out to everyone setting it up and everyone who brought food and drinks, Pizza guys pizza was great. It might not have been the best way with all the different lines but I cant complain since in a small building and everyone wanting most all the frags they can get, its gonna be a little hectic, but hey its free frags so I'll go along with whatever. Thanks again, I got a lot of nice frags and dipped them all with nothing coming off.
