  1. It may have to be like that I guess... it would deff' get it all up and running sooner... which is a Very Good Thing... Like the idea of getting the sand inside after...
  2. Kinda' like a YellowTang with a Idol... Has to be for sure... Interesting looking child...
  3. I have not, but I'm sure there are Many members here, that would be more then greatfull to take it off your hands if you decide to go that route... Sounds like you got a gamble to make there... lol
  4. Already moved some, it is indeed FiLtHy... New sand is not in the budget atm, so everyone seems to agree, washing/rinsing it thoroughly would be the best???
  5. You mean, not just pour on the floor, and walk through it barefooted???
  6. Thanks for the idea's. I'd really like to have some there. Purely for aesthetics.
  7. I broke down my 55g the other week... The sand has just sat in the tank with some water. No movement, nor heat.... I planned initially to just rinse it with ''water change'' water, but now for it sitting so long, and able to smell the decaying/dieng organisms; What should I do with it???... I feel as tho', I should rinse it with water and just really get it all rinsed out Thoroughly???? I also saved some sand and its in my mini fudge, still alive and doing well, to help seed my "New Sandbed'' after the move... What are your thoughts with the sand, I would like to see it in my new Tank, just want to take appropriate precautions before I do so...
  8. Top left corner, click "' About WAMAS'', under that, is a tab of all LFS, and a map to show where. Hope this helps?
  9. I agree, don't like chances... Which is why the tank should be emptied first... to a point that is workable, to prevent such problems from arising. but if it needs to be pulled just 1/4" or less, should be alright to squeeze together then???? Half of the water being emptied would allow the tank, to return to its near normal stance, if not just right...
  10. I'd recommend using the wood, to evenly spread the pressure, from the clamps, over the rim of tank... Slowly depress slightly, All the while Empting At Least a Trashcan worth of water before you do so... This should bring the distance between 2, even closer making it that much easier to tighten it... I'd use, More then recommended amount of clamps, for extra precaution, all the same style tho', so they all tighten at the same intervals as eachother... Should be able to get out a trashcan's worth without it allowing the corals to be out of the water, (BigTank), may be able to do more then a Trashcan, and can always move some corals lower for a temporary time if needed... New Tank, is ultimately the Best ideally... although Just welding metal together as a clamp, with a part to attach/screw the Acrylic Joist to run across, should work just fine, and don't have to worry about moving a sandbed and the others that goes along with a tank move.
  11. Yessir, used Rust'Oleoem Screws. And also, Did not know about the severity to how bad the treatment process was. I planned on sealing it all very thoroughly, but did not even have a clue about that, will make sure to give it that, ''Extra Coat''. Thanks Guys.
  12. That's what I'm hoping.. was the plan, should '' Hold a Tank ''. but just one of those moments where, you know. "' just need to hear it from others as well''.lol
  13. I just got done building my stand, minus the skin. I'm curious whether it is strong enough for a 90g. I built it for a 75, but would 90 be pushing it?? I have a chance to upgrade here, just want to make sure my stand is able to support the weight... The top and bottom ''frame'' is built with 2x6's, and the rest is 2x4's. Is this strong enough??? The frame top and bottom ''frame'', are also pressure treated for good measure as they will be getting wet at one point, and plan on this stand being used for Many Years to come... So... Is it strong enough??? Here is a blue-print. I took out all middle braces, minus one to help keep its shape.... As this is a glass tank, and only needs to be supported around the edges, I felt as tho' this would be a good call. Quick Pic. of The Stand, still need to add One Middle, support brace.
  14. Any type of clamp light fixture will work. I'd put in a Freshwater Plant CFL, they're only like $10 and would allow the cheato to flourish... all together, cheaper possibly then just a PAR. LED Bulb. Either or, just remember, plants thrive under a different spectrum then corals, so if you go PAR Bulb route, get the appropriate bulb for best results. GL and Have Fun.lol But Clamps, from HomeDepot,Lowes,Petsmart,Petco,etc.. Get one that will work for your installation needs.
  15. Just sounds like they are stretching, to be closer to the light.... Possibly move them higher up if you can, should be alright... or start raising the Light's Output slightly. Either or... I'd get them closer to the light, if the other corals look just fine.
  16. Curious also, wondering how you like it, not having it hooked up to your main Tank's Water.... Better or Worse growth? About the same? Do you use your water from that Main Tank's change, to put in the Frag Tank??? Sorry for the '?'s.lol
  17. Great advice, for example... if you post Number, Email, Address and more, in a post. In hopes that it will allow you to '' lock-in'', a deal... it does not. Take Sublime's Advice...it benefits all.
  18. I'm thinking about ordering EBay, I'll let you know how it goes. . I didn't know QR, keeps them in stock. Very good to know for future reference. GL
  19. That's always a good thing to read, and proof of The Good Deals, Advice, Knowledge, Help in Times of Need, and More. Thank You WAMAS.
  20. Do you have any other corals in your tank already??
  21. Wondered if anyone else noticed that yesterday.lol
