I have a yellow coris wrasse and love it. Everyone I know says they lost theirs with jumping. Pretty standard with all wrasse yea but have to throw that in there for anyone reading. It is also hard finding a healthy coris as mentioned above. Got my second to take. People mentioned on LA how wonderful and peaceful hoevens wrasse is but it attacked the day lights out of my coris when added forcing into overflow. I had to remove it and put it in my new tank. I could be very wrong but my assumption is that I didn't have a large enough tank for 3 wrasse to have enough space. Amazing fish and pics dippy

Long story short but during a cycle the only way to get nitrates down is with water changes. it takes a while for nitrates to come down which is another reason for larger than normal water changes. Hardy fish should be added first. I transferred damsel over first when I thought tank was ready then gave it a few weeks before adding anything else. This is where it really pays to be patient and follow the directions closely.

too much light, too little light, or something else?

It looks like the montiporas are growing together. When my SPS touch they fight and it affects whole colony. Yea any fluctuations in alk and stuff freaks out. It's getting colder too make sure your temperature gauge is accurate -
I agree! They are typically on their food source and don't really care to play around on snails. A buddy of mine had one come in from a local store and saw it fall off during initial dip. Good luck!

What rare corals do you have? Top 5?

Hot corals Bowie! Do you remember their name? I trust copps online pics fo sure. I actually was in shock how beautiful the frags were when I saw them. That's a great feeling when you get what you pay for. -

I crashed and burned on WWC blue stag. I paid close to $40 for the frag just for it to show up with no blue on it. It actually looks just like my purple stag I have trouble selling for $7 My friend just got back from the actual WWC store in Florida. He looked at a whole row of the blue stag and told me there wasn't anything blue about them. I don't want to bash WWC or JF because it seems as if all the top internet coral shops are misleading their customers. -
Personal preference. I would pull them personally. Because it could come back if they get stressed. I sacrificed some live rock in QT that way I could seed the good bacteria. Make sure you have an ammonia badge in the QT if you go that route. #1 killer of QT fish is ammonia because people set these up without cycling.

So the question is, do these frags have amazing colors in our tanks like in the stock photos? I am definitely staying away from Jason fox corals based on just one observation. I saw that his red dragon looks crazzzzzy red. In real life I see pink red dragons everywhere I go. Maybe he is just more talented and can squeeze out better color than us? -
I keep seeing ATI fixtures for sale with "new fans" or "needs new fans" how long are the fans suppose to last? How long are they actually lasting? Are they difficult to replace?

I know zygote documented something like this on here if you want to try to search it.

It looks like it has some minor steering problems but does well enough to get by. Should do great in aquaria life since there is unlimited food opportunity. Maybe it got bit off by a shark

Sublime I thought the coral hoarding AA classes fixed those thoughts! John you are right something isn't right with this tank already. Crazy growth and radioactive growth and stuff going on I can't explain. People said wait till stable well I have never seen growth bumps this quick on my Ora birds of paradise or encrustations/white polyps on my red dragon like this. I'll keep main colonys in the main display but I want to cut huge test frags now. Fish list will consist of fish transferred from my last tank. Plus some blue chromis. I'll re consider after! Right now I have one yellow tang, one cleaner wrasse, and one red hawkfish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I hope the tail wasn't chopped off this fish to make a couple bucks

Uhg so many variables. Frustrating. Maybe one of these days I'll get it right. Is everything ok? -
there are a lot of different kinds of hair algae. Just like there are a lot of different corals. I don't happen to be a hair algae expert and I doubt there is a HA guru on here. I had stuff nothing would touch lol. I never tried Mexican turbos so it might be worth buying a few and letting them taste test it. I hate adding livestock to worsen nutrients but it seems like a great idea as long as skimmer and water changes are removing that snail poop aggressively. GFO worked wonders for me. No matter what kind is growing it is eating phosphates. I didn't have delicate SPS back then and could go aggressive on the GFO.mBut also have to give credit to upgraded larger skimmer to help remove nutrients. I agree with mostly all stated. The Rock is probably loaded with phosphate. You can peroxide dip till the next blood red moon but if the rock is loaded with phosphate it will bounce back and continue to grow off the phosphate leaching from rocks. If money isn't an issue: GFO, better skimming, water changes, manual harvest, possibly swap rock out for stuff someone acid treated. Or peroxide treat and just use GFO till phosphates are done leaching out. There will be a lot of die off keep up on the water changes.

Despite my recent mistakes they have still managed to grow. These are tough as nails and have been a nice addition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks guys I'm excited also. Cut some test frags a couple days ago. A couple of them I guess were more panic cuts since I'm having issues with STN in the 125. But two days later and they are looking great. The tank is not looking good with algae bloom. Curious if the bloom is bringing nitrates down. I'll check after water change. Oops forgot the up to date 240 pic with new tank syndrome algae bloom. My nitrates are high as seen on top of the tank. I'm willing to bet that's part of NTS also. I plan on bumping up water changes and increase skimming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

NTS started with diatoms after putting fish in. Now algae bloom which I think is awesome because I can add snails. Really started enjoying watching this thing come alive. I ignored calibrating my refractometer with everything going on. On top of that I found a snail on my ATO sensor and an overfilled sump in the 125. Soooo a lot of my SPS I plan on transferring is currently in STN mode and I'm trying my Hardest to keep all numbers stable for them to hopefully pull through. This pic makes me cringe but I'll post it anyhow to show what the SPS is going through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'm using my old LEDs temporarily until I can set up the T5. 3 fish went in around October 20. It was cycled with the ammonia in the bottle sitting on tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
